Any tips on a build capable of outputting 3D Blu-rays?

Hi, I have a Panasonic VT60 3DTV and I'm looking to build a HTPC to play everything from podcasts to 3D Blu-ray movies.

How powerful a system do I need for that? Do I need a specific video card or will an AMD APU or Intel Haswell IGP be good enough?

I would like to do color calibration in windows, I'm not sure if this can be done w/ an intel IGP or if it needs drivers only available from AMD or nVIDIA.

If you were in my situation what would you all do?

Not unless the price difference between one that is capable of playing any digital media (3D Blu-ray, x264 1080p, 4k youtube, etc.) and one that can do that & games isn't much.

I have a gaming computer that is separate (on another floor).

You could either get an android media player, or build an apu.
Both will end up costing around $100 to 150 without a harddrive.
The apu will be faster but will eat more energy and take space.

android player, should cost around $100 without hdd
these players have sata / msata

I don't want to go android because I want to be able to calibrate the colors. As far as I know there is no way to do that in android.

So an AMD APU will be able to handle 3D blu-ray content? Even the low end models?

Can anyone recommend some good-quality low power PSUs?

I don't want a cheap PSU because I'm hooking it up directly to a very expensive receiver & any surge from a failure may pass straight through HDMI to it. It has to be high quality.

I havent tried playing 3D on my apu yet because I dont have a 3d monitor.
VLC player can handle movies up to 15gb size fairly well, but any larger than that, im afraid vlc will be too slow when fast forwarding scenes.

You should test out which programs play the fastest, ive googled around and people seem to suggest these:
MPC-HC, TotalMedia Theatre or PowerDVD
