Games stutter even at a locked 60fps Just bought a GTX 780 - Page 2

Thread Starter
fresh install of windows and there is sitll the same problem. I have never bought a card on launch and this is the first. Could it be because drivers aren't up and running properly? I mean since it has the same tech as a titan i don't see how that could be an issue, but maybe?

Have you by any chance downloaded LoL immediately after install, or any other game/software that comes with pandoo media booster? It's a long shot but i've seen people forget that this is installed on their pc and it does cause throttling and power issues that can cause stuttering in games if running in the back round. Just a thought, gl

**second thought, go into msconfig and disable all startup programs/apps and try and run a game see if anything is different. If theres no stuttering there may be a program causing power/throttling issues, re-enable programs 1 by 1 afterwards until you find which is causing it, if you do find that there's this specific issue

I know it's late and I just joined, but when I got my 680 near launch I was having the exact same issues you are having with your 780 right now. TF2 would run at a ridiculous number of frames but it still seemed like it was stuttering or choppy. It turns out it was just the drivers, and two or three releases later everything was completely smooth. I'm pretty sure the only thing you can do is wait until new drivers are released, because there is strong evidence that the new ones released for the 780 are causing your issue (your 570 SLI setup experienced the same problem after the update).

i have the same problem here with my 780, Same stuttering.
i tried to check everything, My CPU usage is good, the Card IS fully stable, i have no idea what's the problem is.

before the 780 i had the 660 ti, and 660ti was also stuttering, i'm thinking of my CPU, i have an 3570k @ 4.4, i want to replace it and see if i have the same problem.

No, really, just wait for a new driver release. That's going to solve, it, I'm 99% certain. This is a cycle seen with almost ALL just-launched flagship nVidia cards.

I'd try the 314.22 drivers (with modded nv_disp.inf) to see if it fixes your issue.

The only other thing I can think of would be to try unparking your cores to see if the CPU is causing the stuttering. To see if you have parked cores, run 'resource monitor' in Win7. There are tools on the internet to make it easier to unpark them.
