New motherboard, questions arise

I just purchased this: http://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/970%20Pro3%20R2.0/

I've gotten the cpu voltage working fine, the rig is my main rig (in sig, with a new MB to be updated). The thing is, I've got a current specific question. With the Phenom II chips, NB overclocking is kind of nice. My old board, amazing as it was, needed replacement. I've got everything working so far but one thing, the NB voltage. It seems that both CPU/NB voltages stop at 1.35. That's fine for the CPU, I've found the offset which raises the vcore. It's required for the x2 unlock, 1.4 is my base for unlock. (1.42 current in software, 1.475 - old bios - for 3.6 and software reports 1.55, either way temps are fine and it runs)

To the issue, my NB will run at 2700 stable with 1.375 voltage. The thing is, I cannot set that with this new board. It stops that at 1.35 as well, so is there any way around that? Will the AMD overclock software do anything? I'm ok with software overclocking until I can afford a new chip but if it can't boost that NB, no point. I'm currently at 1.35 and 2400, which is modest but I've found the more you boost that the better things work out.

More to the point, does the CPU Voltage Offset affect that as well? Does it boost both?

This whole UEFI bios stuff is way outta my league at the moment, until I get used to it on my own system. Been tackling a friend's, which I got sufficiently figured out but it's a Vishera, different ballgame here.

Tips? Advice?

The CPU offset does not effect CPU/NB

can you screen shot what settings you have available to you. You may be limited to that amount. Some different boards have different power phases and they may have limited this one for safety.

I can list it from the manual:

Turbo
C-state
Frequencies/multiplier (cpu/nb)
CPU vcore
Cpu-NB vcore
HT Bus speed/width
CPU Voltage Offset
NB Voltage
CPU VDDA Voltage
PCI-E VDDA Voltage
SB Voltage

Everything else is irrelevant from the OC section. I know power settings, all that jazz, most of what I've listed I know too. VDDA stuff is new, unsure exactly how to figure that in. I know CPU-NB is the IMC/NB, believe NB is the chip on the board. Don't know what SB is, that's new.

CPU-NB is what I've read up on to change for IMC overclocking, don't think anything else changes it. From what I've gathered, and your initial response, CPU-NB is locked at 1.35v.... Which saddens me but I guess it is really designed for Vishera, which doesn't require NB/IMC overclocks. So I can deal with the loss in IMC, lived with it this long and the only game I saw a huge reason to do it was C3. So I'll live for sure, just was trying to figure this mess out.

If you could help explain the VDDA voltages, that'd be awesome too even if they don't apply.

[edit] found VDDA voltages, so I've read up on that. I'm quick to read, since it's my crap on the line LOL! Anyways, apparently 1.35 works well, I upped the VDDA to 2.7 for stability testing. If it passes this acceptably I'll lower it back to 2.5 and try again.

So far the droop isn't as bad, or... Well it seems as bad on the CPU vcore but the CPU-NB is holding up well. It's passing P95 better than normal, which I should know since I've tested this chip to infinity so to speak. I'll leave it run overnight, if it passes that I'll call it good. Wouldn't run off my old timings (ram) but haven't done extreme testing. Might be the bump down in CPU-NB which has done that, it's only a minor latency drop so... I'll accept that for what it's running now.

I'll post a new reply for how things turned out. So far my adventure with UEFI hasn't been terrible (already did my friends, just an adjustment). It's just a different layout and settings, some new ones that I'm aware better motherboards have.

So I guess Spread Spectrum resets to on, got it at 2700@1.35 on the NB, seems holding. Had to drop my OC down to 3450@1.45, which should be fine. I'm hoping it's stable, I'll run more tests tonight but so far use hasn't produced any bugs.

Could a new MB provide better constant power requiring less volts? Because testing previously did not allow 1.35 for the NB, and this still might not. I may have to play with FSB more and find a way to get it to 2600, wanna stay within the sweet spot for Phenoms if I can.
