1st Rig; RAM recommendations? Ordering tomorrow.

Thread Starter
I have around $400-500 to spend on RAM, or a better CPU, or something else... Any recommendations before I order my parts tomorrow?

Processor - E6300 $181.00 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819115005
Motherboard - Gigabyte DS3 $134.99 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813128012
RAM - ? I want something really fast
Hard Drive - Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 $79.99 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822148144
Video Card - SAPPHIRE Radeon x1900GT $149.99 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102022
Case - nMEDIAPC HTPC ATX Slim Tower $49.99 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811204007
Power Supply - HIPER HPU-4K580-MS 580W Power Supply $89.99 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817128002

Monitor - HannsG Black 19" Widescreen LCD $179.99 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16824254005
Sound Card - Creative Sound Blaster X Fi XtremeMusic $92.99 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16829102188

Total: Under 1K

Objective
;I want a PC that will play my Anime with the best picture quality and sound.
;*Music is the main factor here.
;Casual gaming; I want to run FEAR at max settings, though I mostly play free MMORPGs (ie: Anything that comes from Asia).
;The computer has to be deadly fast within price range from boot-time to multi-tasking whatever.
;Runs on stock cooling; but I want at least 3GHz from CPU. Is that possible?

Couple of Notes
-E6300 is the cheapest Conroe chip. With the leftover money, I could get the more expensive ones.
-DS3; cheap and it has all the things I need. I'm not going to do SLI/xFire nor Raid setups.
-I have no clue on what RAM to get. I just want the fastest one that my motherboard/CPU can handle. If I spend most of my leftover money on this, I'm sticking with the E6300.
-The Seagate 250Gigs is more than enough space.
-Sapphire x1900GT; I chose it because it comes with a free game.
-The nMEDIAPC case is my preference. I like how it looks.
-580W is more than enough, or maybe overkill. But it's cheap and it's modular.
-Went with the HannsG monitor. I want the best picture for the price.
-XFi XtremeMusic for the best audio.

I need RAM recommendations.
Thanks!

If you're looking for excellent music, I'd replace those speakers... And for the HD, I belive that the new Segate 7200.10 series are fast and probably less troublesome than setting up raid on 2 disks (Get like 1 250GB one).

I know nothing about GFX cards, but if you're waiting for DX10, why don't you settle for a 7600?

Just some thoughts. I'm not really a specialist.

Not reallly

For stereo music I'd go with something from Klipsch... then again I'm not the right person for this at all, I have a fairly unconventional stereo setup.... (click the camera below my username to see my setup).

Just seems that 5 speakers for 50 bucks, 10 bucks a speaker. How good can each speaker be?

I'd get the non-WiFi edition of that Motherboard if you are not going to use it. Also, in addition, I'd go for nicer speakers as Jimmy2Shoe said. Lastly, I'd get this Xion Supernova Modular PSU. It's only $90 shipped, 600W, SLi certified (which doesn't mean much), and modular.

Those speakers look awesome.
Anyway, if I were to switch to one Seagate Barracuda 250BG@7200, I'd save around 15 bucks, then I could switch to a DS3 saving me some $$.

That PSU looks nice. I have a (newb) question though, how does modular differ from ones that aren't?

Argreed. I heard the Seagate Barracude 250 7200.10 is a great hard drive. Also, with that 247.8GB of HDD space or so you won't need any more space and if you want more speed, and have a Floppy Drive, drop in another Barracude, set up Raid 0, and be prepared to be amazed.

I have some Altec Lansing speakers that are great. I don't know what model though. I'll see if I can find them. Bose is great if you can afford them. Here's the link to the new version of my speakers speakers
