[VC] AMD Radeon HD 8000 Graphics Cards Will Feature Better Coolers - Page 6

this is more than welcome for me. then again, I live in 100~110 ambient with a/c to 85. I hardly ever hear noise on the factory cooler as it is, so this is like icing on the cake.

I concur that smacking magnesium on their vapor chamber coolers looks good but it isn't that the performance is all that exceptional as the EVGA ACX solution runs 20 degrees cooler.

Was not AMD bashing. The new NVIDIA reference cooler on the Titan/780 is very good.

If you're referring to a superior cooler that looks like junk vs the Titan/780, I would pick the Titan/780. I have good airflow in my case and heat is not an issue. I also have an acrylic case so aesthetics are important.

I'm in it for the performance but when I'm in for the aesthetics I would just put a block on it anyway.

It is the theory behind masking sound waves with other sounds waves of the same frequency that have a fase difference causing interference effectively making the sound vanish (of course that is almost impossible so I'm going to use the term mask)

That's awesome to see, except I guess it doesn't really matter for watercoolers.

I mean a better design and a better fan you only have to make it once then use it for generations to come. (vapor chamber *cough* *cough*)

What's so special about "vapor chamber"? It's been around for many many years now. Most air cpu coolers are vapor chambers since there is liquid in the metal pipes.

I mean the ones that Nvidia and Sapphire uses direct vapor chambers they're very efficient.

I don't water cool my GPU, so my options are limited. In my opinion there aren't any good looking water blocks that beat a Danger Den.

Then if you want aesthetics and don't really care for temps as long as they keep within operating ranges the Titan cooler is indeed very nice.
Can't deny that magnesium looks good.
I like aluminum matte silver paint wink.gif

I suppose if I had a pile of money to throw at my rig I could always watercool

A lot of effort though, and it's not a hot climate here
