I do like most OCN'ers from America as long as they are nice and have a decent education and are preferably non republican voters.
Don't know about the 6x so efficient though as China also has universities especially those in previous British territory should be top class and they also have the optimization where there is need for it (if it increases the profitability that is)

I like America and have voted Republican, does this mean we can't be friends????

What a stupid thing to say.

If you honestly don't think your CIA hacks into the databases of other countries then you are kidding yourself. They are an intelligence agency, ITS THEIR JOB. They literally get PAID to SPY. Its the most basic concept of working for a government intelligence agency. Whilst not all employees are spies obviously, the agency itself its designed to spy and secretly collect data on other nations, persons of interest etc.. Which in the digital age, involved a lot of hacking.

Not to mention the CIA is responsible for some of the biggest atrocities that mankind has ever seen. So to be honest, I am far more worried about your CIA than China spying on me.

Depends on what the reason was that you did, I tend to oppose republicans because they block progress they are too conservative the American system isn't all that different from ours.
second chamber(150 people + a majority party president) makes laws first chamber(75 people with greed in mind(a little ontortodox but that is what is speaks to me when I look at the bills they oppose and which they don't)) either agrees or disagrees it is what makes our systems so weak so vulnerable.
Thing is Obama "won" and as a European I like his ideas they are pretty solid but almost everytime he tries to get a new bill trough it just get denied by your first chamber which has more republicans than democrats even though they "won".

I think republicans think the world won't change opposing solutions for our problems I mean when I was watching the debates on CNN a question was asked about energy and Romney went full retard about how he wanted to solve it with coal and oil from America's own sources.
Dumb policy making is what keeps us down don't get me for some anarchist cause I'm not but it is really costing a lot of money to sum those up:
Telling banks that they could lend/invest 100 dollar for every 1 dollar they own.
Privitizing hospitals for better prices which lead to 8x the prices.
Not keeping tags on medicine consumption and not owning the medicine formula and patents themselves (I work as a delivery boy for a pharmacy really so many "errors")
About them not owning the formula they still pay 70 euro for a package of pills which with the develpmont costs calculated should cost a total of 57 cents.

And then there is this law they made about contractors they hire as a government:
They must always pick the cheapest one's offer However the don't get their list of demands straight which in the end will make that cheapest contractor 5x more expensive on average.

Hope that after this way too long post with me putting up my thoughts about your system and mine I hope you see where I'm coming from.
I'm only 17 years old so maybe I see things a little too black and white and miss some nuances but I'll see.
Might just move to wherever my fascination for fission takes me wink.gif

China has some excellent universities actually. Universities such as Peking University and Tsinghua University rank in the top 50 in the world.

With all honesty, the US education system is actually quite poor for such a wealthy nation. They rank 14th in education (South Korea is 1st, Australia 6th) and with the exception of Ivy League colleges and other colleges like MIT, all of which cost an absolute fortune and are totally inaccessible for 99.9% of the population; US universities actually rate quite poorly across the board.

Sadly there are too many people here at OCN who still think its the 1950's/60's and China is some dirt poor nation full of communists who hate America. When the reality is that China is number 1 and India will very quickly (over the next 20-40 years) become number 2. Some people here just can't accept that the US isn't what it used to be and have an unjustified hatred of China. Perhaps due to their sheer hatred of communism (just look at what happened in the cold war to "communist collaborators"). So maybe its a cultural thing, but either way, China is number 1. The sooner everyone just accepts that the better.

I agree on the US educational system not being the best hence Holland and Germany are quite good though (at least I think they're)
India is not something I want to see as a leading nation they're not to be trusted their society(That pyramid thing they call society) and principals aren't meant to be there for a western country.

While I can agree with some of this, I don't think you are as familiar with the issues as you think you are. No offense meant by that though but it would be difficult to understand unless you are here and in the education system. (If you do have direct experience then I hope you share it) Peking and Tsinghua University are both fantastic universities but they are limited. I have colleagues I speak with on a frequent basis from those universities and others throughout Asia. They do not have nearly the impact factor as most top American universities. Their publications go largely ignored unless they have participation from universities outside of China. Sad but true. (I refuse to speak about the fake journals and conferences that come largely from Asia because that is a different matter along with plagiarism and multi-publication of identical articles) They are limited by what they can share with the world and there is no denying that fact.

Not to mention the overwhelming number of international students from Asia that are here because they have a better chance of getting a great education rather than not getting into one of the great schools there. The same reason many attend Australian and European universities. No one here is running to attend Asian universities You can say what you like about top ranked colleges and universities; still doesn't change the fact that more than 50% of the top 100 universities are in the US, and more than 50% of the top 100 impact universities are in the US. Yes, some of those colleges may seem inaccessible to many but it isn't because of the prices. Ask me about it. I have never paid a penny for my education, in fact I have always been paid to get my education and live quite comfortably.

Our education system isn't quite poor in fact it is rather average. Not as good as it once was and not nearly what it should be in my opinion. Sorry there really aren't that many people who believe the "commies" are out to do anything. Most people from my generation could not possibly care less about communism. The US is not headed anywhere because we believe anything about anywhere else. We are not as ignorant as many people try to make it seem. Would we readily admit China is number 1?...No, partly because of pride but also because we know than brilliance can come from any corner of the world and urge them to come to the US where they have the best chance to do something big. We value innovation more than outright education. It has served the US well and will continue to do so. A lot of great ideas start here and are taken to the next level in China and Japan. I can respect anyone for that, I am usually amazed by efficiency at which they can perform and their ability to perfect many peoples ideas. I do admit we have quite a few idiots though and unfortunately they are quite loud but please don't confuse them as representative of the entire nation. They are our idiots, and they have the right to say, think, and do what they please because those values built this country. We will protect those rights even if we disagree with them.
