Problems with asus p8z68-v pro

Thread Starter
Hi!

I bought an used gaming pc that the previous owner built by himself.

Im having huge troubles with getting it stable. The specs are:

Intel core i7 2600k
Sapphire HD7950 OC-edition
Corsair AX850
Asus P8Z68-V Pro
G.Skill Ripjaws 1600MHZ 2x4GB

i had to manualy set the voltages for cpu and ram at 1.25v and 1.50v just to get the system to not crash after 2 min in windows.
Now the computer crashes every time im using the graphic-card for games or HD-videos. I dont get BSODs, the screen just goes to a weird color and the sound freezez.

My feeling is that its not the graphic-card but the combination with the motherboard and the graphic-card that somehow doesnt work. Any one got some ideas?

Btw it freezez less often when i use some old drivers from ati.
also i use a HDMI cable to connect the monitor if that could have something to do with it.
Its been like this for a year and im getting kinda tired of it.

Welcome to OCN smile.gif

First, reset the Bios to its default settings, set memory volts to 1.53 (very safe) and enable XMP profile.
Then, uninstall your current AMD drivers using the Official Tool and install the latest drivers.
Test for stability.
