AMD can't price their cards the same way as Nvidia's.
First is due to less publicity, and second because most people factor out the inferior driver support from the price when taking AMD cards into consideration.
Myself I won't touch an AMD card if it is the same price and performance as Nvidia's. either it must be faster, or at least has as good driver support.

Can't wait to see what "luldrivers" spammers switch to after AMD moves their frametiming driver version out of beta. There wasn't much complaining about the topic before the 600 series when Nvidia had similar frametimes to AMD.

Whether you like the look or not that 4chan 8970 image looks pretty much like a AMD ref version of MSI and Gigabyte dual fan heatsinks. If they use similar fans it should be pretty quite while cooling well.

I' can't help but to think Nvidia is about to get pimp-slapped...They already been slapped by surprise with the console deal but again, I must remind myself that time will tell the story whistle.gif

Yeah, because the drivers are so much worse, rolleyes.gif when Nvidia can do multiple monitors without colossal amounts of work, your point might have some merrit. Nvidia just started figuring out that 2gbs of vram isn't quite enough. Less publicity, that's debatable. Also AMD cards come with at least 100 bucks in games.

I was always nvidia since the begining, before this last year i got 7770 to replace 8800gt and i have to say catalyst is pretty good with me on 7xxx series. I had zero problems... but yea bad publicity will be very hard for AMD to overcome.

We'll have to see where this lands, but $400-500 seems fair enough. When its time to sell I'll put up a f/s page.

BTW, find it funny, but remember that leaked sapphire document from DEC 2011? Interesting to look at the very top 2 cards that have been scratched out...have they had samples of this waiting since the 7970 release?
