Besides the HD7850 has 3 to 4 times the power of that Intel thing and has a few months to market the Ultrabooks aren't that available just yet.
AMD has the crown just deal with it.

What does buying it as a separate chip have to do with anything?

And like I said the chip in the ps4 is not an APU its a SoC. Two different things.

Plus you can't even buy whatever is inside the Ps4.....it is unreleased hardware. So no they do not by any means have the fastest APU. maybe fastest SoC but that's not an APU.

HOW CAN SOMETHING BE THE FASTEST IF IT ISN'T EVEN RELEASED YET?

All the new stuff AMD is doing nice and all, but i'm not big nor understand the craze on tablet/smart phone/super thin laptops for gaming. As long as they keep pushing forward on gaming for desktop, I will continue to support them.

But their APU's are definitely interesting and intriguing. Don't think it will be long before their APU's match their regular CPUs.

Basically, we started out with someone saying X, so another said Y and another responded Z...and now Y and Z is bickering.

If you compare iGPU's, AMD beats Intel handily; however daily usage surely depends on the cpu's sprinting capabilities.
Overclocked @ 4.8 Ghz compared to an i5 3470 brings %93 of the 3DMark 11 Physics cpu points. Same idle statistics, unfortunately 50 watts more power consumption at stock and +80 watts after overclock obviate the lack of cpu finesse. Still, I would say 6800k is good enough. Notice that there is no L3 cache on this thing.

The APU in the PS4 exists. According to you that's enough.

It's the same (x86) microarchitecture used in tablets and notebooks. Does that mean the Intel Core i5 processor in the Surface Pro doesn't count as PC hardware because it's in a tablet?

Stuff that has been released? And why not stuff we can actually BUY?

Because they're is a fair small market share for AMD Desktop products. They can't beat Intel.

As such, they've developped for the portable market, which is a much more profitable market.

Well can you get that ultrabook yet?
NO it will take some time a week or 2 to get them to market so what are you jabbing about it being available or not.

You can't buy the chip in that ultrabook that is bga for ya wink.gif

The epeen is strong with this thread.

The fact is while Intel's new iGPU is quite impressive in performance, it's still a niche product. AMD's APU's are everywhere else. Performance crown goes to Intel, sales will go to AMD.
Personally AMD should have just skipped releasing Richland.
Kaveri will beat anything Intel has in terms of iGPU, for a few short months where Intel comes out on top of the iGPU world is pretty pointless. Unless you really like tossing your money out the window on trying to have the best cpu/gpu combo damn the cost. Though still doesn't get past the fact that you have to deal with intel's horrid drivers. The current A10 will play games nearly just as good or lot less $$.

GDDR5 Kaveri + dedicated GPU = great budget gaming laptop that will also be pretty low on power usage.

Those following the "Intel" path with Iris Pro, enticed by Pixelsync might ultimately suffer lack of antialiasing support(LOL). This is an Intel igpu, accept it.
