Wrong Noctua Case Fan?

Thread Starter
So I needed a 140mm front intake case fan. I think there were a few 140mm Noctua fans, but in my rush I picked the NF-A15 PWM:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835608036&nm_mc=TEMC-RMA-Approvel&cm_mmc=TEMC-RMA-Approvel-_-Content-_-text-_-.

I wanted a Fractal fan to match my case, but it was out of stock. Did I make the wrong/inefficient decision? Will it come to haunt me? Should I return it as soon as I get it?

No idea. Depends on your needs but that is one expensive fan. I'm sure its got the performance but I have a gripe with Noctua fans. I just can't take that colour scheme. No idea if that will match your case

What do you mean by wrong, its a case fan, it will blow air in or take air out. Noctua make nice fans, unless you hate the look,it will work just fine.

The look doesn't bother me, maybe a little lol, but will it effect the cooling in my case negatively or maybe are they vastly more expensive and not cost-effective for my needs? Or would they be better than if I got one of these?:

Which I assume would have been the "correct" choices?

No, just keep it man. Why sacrifice performance? Not that it will make a big difference either way.

Its a case fan, if we were talking a cooler fan or a rad fan it would be a different story. They are good quality, quiet fans, I run 2 on my H220, the NF F12. You could go cheaper if money is tight though.

So I should keep it because it'll be just as good/better and quiet as the other two? Cool! Oh and about the H220, I am getting one, are the stock fans decent enough for now(Good airflow, no vibrations/coil noise)? I'm a little tight on the money so can't get the NF-F12s for them. But! Maybe I can wait until Noctua releases their new black/white ones? biggrin.gif.

Or maybe use the NF-A15 PWM as the rear exhaust comared to the Fractal that's there? It is static apparently. Don't know if it'll fit.

Depends on who you ask. Linus over on youtube showed pretty big differences using the NF F12 over stock. But there are also tests showing the GT AP15 are still the best fans out there. IMHO, NO fan is going to be the difference between killing a CPU or not based on temps. SAFE temps are far more important than having the lowest possible.

I run my stock fans that came with my case. I have the Phantom 630, I know its different than yours, but I just don't make a big deal about case fans. I have a 200mm intake and a 140mm exhaust. My H220 fans are also intake pushing through the rad, I also had them in a pull config and didn't see any temp difference.
