I'm actually with Deepjazz on this. I prefer single card solutions, especially when WC'ing.

The GTX 790 or whatever AMD has up their sleeve with Volcanic Islands.

Well, looks like the 'ol i5 2500k will last for another couple years. Heck, I have a friend still rocking a i7 920 @ 4ghz doing just fine. There really hasn't been a huge upgrade on the Intel front for 4 years. mad.gif I couldn't imagine a TITAN SLI or 7990 setup on an ~8 core/~6Ghz proc. At least the new consoles coming out will push developers to actually give us PC gamers something we should have had for the past ~4 years. thumb.gifthumb.gif Hopefully that will push hardware as well...

With watercooling, you'll save a huge amount on waterblocks, but with a normal system, I'd prefer two cards.

Good news for my SB smile.gif

I've had different LGA1155 motherboards and I've had some really nice clocks (4.9 w/ 1.325v EVGA Z77 FTW) and some decent ones (4.7 w/ 1.385v Sniper3 Z77). Same chip, different mb and different experiences. I settle with the later due to the onboard audio and the color scheme (and its not buggy).

Kind of surprised Haswell is worse (slight) then IB. Well, still holding off on a 3570k/3770k change.

I'd suspect such a massive gap in voltage is more likely a badly calibrated voltage sensor than a better power design. the Z77 FTW isn't exactly known for reliability.

nah, better design. It was hella buggy but it was a nice overlcocker biggrin.gif. The EVGA Z68 FTW and MIVE-Z were very close, so it was a shame to leave those. Heck, i had better luck with a P8P67 WS then the Sniper3, it hit 4.9 w/ 1.400v.

I really think you will like the 3770K, but the 2700K is NO SLOUCH.. smile.gif

Man.... Here I was all lined up saving some money for haswell. And son has an accident and extra bills and then all these reviews. Wait a little longer and see if some better batches come out I suppose or start looking for a 2700k or 3770k. Really like the z87 boards though... Damn the 1150 socket lol
