IPC increased while OC ceiling decreased. So it's almost a dead copy of IVY. I feel sorry for the guys who went from ivy to haswell.

I feel sorry for anyone who didn't stick with sandy.

Wow, I really didn't expect Sandy Bridge to still hold up so well against Haswell. It's not like I planned on upgrading either way, though.

Agreed. But at least it was the same socket.lol

Unless you got a good deal on a ivy or went from a sandy i5 to a ivy i7, then ya it's pointless ass well.

I had. 2500k and made 20 bucks by upgrading to 3770k from my 2500k so I can't complain.

If you're going 3+ way SLI, it made a difference, as well.

The the haswell being the tock I thought would have offered better performance, considering they get so hot I havent had the desire to upgrade at all, let alone need to upgrade. I will say though with microcenter having the 3770k for $230 almost made me pick one up just to play.

Re: [X-Bit Labs] Retail Versions of Intel Core i

I was gonna upgrade to Haswell just for the z87 formula board from asus but I can't stomach the downgrade from my current 5ghz 3770k

That's a nice board. You can take it in the pool with you.

People who bought the 2500k during it's heyday sure are getting their money worth.
