Yep, this will kill the gaming industry. Atleast as we know it. And i won't be a part of it. We have accepted Ea's crap cos we have to, we have accepted Ubisoft's crap cos we have to, we can't let that spread to a entire platform. People abandoned sega before, we need to abandon microsift now. All they are doing is giving people a incentive to hack it just to get back their rights. It's punishing the legit user to stop the pirates. it's not the way to do things. If they want to stop piracy 100% they need to stop selling games and systems and forfeit the 100's of millions of dollars they make from them. THIS IS NOT RIGHT!!!

edit: this record breaking stuff is just spin. Not official in any way, a couple of company's talking it up to try and get more sales. big deal.
I'm back baby!!!

Data is irrelevant, title is sensationalist.

Also, Blockbuster Canada went out of business, lulz.

I don't care what people like, its the fact that there making it so other company's will start to use super anti-consumer practices, if something that trys it out does well, rest assured the others will follow. I don't understand why you would want to encourage other company's to lock down their systems or games as much has the xbox ones seems to be by making it successful.

I thought the UK had better privacy protection than we do......or am I confusing them with the EU? Because if I'm not then I'm not surprised they're pre-ordering the XBO

Title is misleading.

This applies to BLOCKBUSTER

Really, how much did Microsoft pay them for this PR?

Oh, OK. I didn't know that. Pretty sure that when it comes to privacy, Microsoft is restricted on what they can and cannot collect more than they are here in the states. That and I have no clue how their internet/TV services work over there, but I know of a person in the UK that's only paying about 80 pounds a month for 300 down, while my mom is paying $40 for 3 down here in the states........I just don't think this is a huge "ZOMG YOU IDIOTS!!!!!!!!!!111!!!!ONE111!!!" story as we think it is.
