i mentioned it. I think there should be a bigger crap storm about this in the UK. Always media brainwashing, some big websites need to push this out there otherwise MS will feel like there actually doing you a favor ?!

They'll have to spend a lot of money, but hey, more money will come through that way.

Same for other countries, they'll enter into deals with cable/internet/satellite companies and sports rights owners. biggrin.gif
Who knows how long those deals take. If those features aren't confirmed outside of the US, and figuring an early 2014 release... it might be cutting it close to release.

Xbox One Hits Record Breaking Pre-Orders... from BLOCKBUSTER. That's why. They could sell 10 units and break a record. laughingsmiley.gif

Why are you all so surprised and misinformed? Get outside more. Staying in your mom's basement won't boost your familiarity with how the world works.

A lot of ppl at my local bar talked about Xbox One and clearly they didn't research more about it. When my friends and I asked them what they know about it, they told us that they know it will have realistic graphics, sleek design, and many fun features that were shown in the ad.

Obviously they won't have the whole package when the console releases, but on release date I bet they will have some free services in every geographical location in which they want to have those services and some pay-per-something, or monthly/anually fee channels. It's Microsoft, if any company has money to soften wills & negotiations, it's them.

I'm european and won't be buying it(unless I score a job, currently unemployed mad.gif ), but I wouldn't be surprised that anybody who buys one on launch day will be able to subscribe to their country's offer for the Champions League's advanced matches. At least in the biggest, most important countries within the EU. It's a guess, but my logic says that you don't launch something with the scope of this without doing a great part of your homework first. Then again, morons reside even in the highest heights of any hierarchy. So I wouldn't be surprised they botched the release of the service too. tongue.gif

My good sir, do you make a good point, though it may be crude.

My friends, family, co-workers, etc. always talk about how "awesome" the Xbox One is because they haven't read any of the DRM or locked down games articles.
I told a few co-workers who were discussing it yesterday about it and none of them had heard a word about it.... basically they all shat bricks and changed their opinions real quick. They then spent the rest of the shift checking articles and complaining. lachen.gif
People will buy the Xbox One like crazy unless all of the garbage gets covered as well at E3. MS is going to do everything in their power to keep all of this under wraps, and so far they're doing a good job.
People complaining about the DRM are a huge minority. If all of your friends get an Xbox One, I Guarantee YOU will get an Xbox One. Why? Because you want to play with your friends. Its really that simple and Microsoft knows this.

Plus the DRM is not that bothersome. I have 40mbps down and I always pay my bill.

The only real concern that is valid is if Xbox Live gets hacked and goes down for months like PSN did. That is a real possibility and would make it so no games could be played. It hasn't happend to Live yet and its been up for 10 years.

Plus Sony is Skirting the DRM question by saying "Its up to the developers" If the developers put the effort to make a DRM system for their Game, to work with Xbox One, you can bet money they will include it on the PS4.

Although the cloud-computing concept that they want to use to enhance graphics is interesting, but who knows whether Microsoft will go through with it (this is pretty much the dealer breaker for me, if they went through with this and it was a success, both consoles would be even in my opinion). I'm not a fan boy either, it's exclusively PC gaming for me and if I was to buy a console it would probably be a Wii U. Not to mention, Microsoft are being very unprofessional about their console in the public eye. For example http://www.overclock.net/t/1398661/toms-hardware-microsoft-up-voting-positive-comments-on-reddit . There is a lot of unclear information about used games, Kinect having to be plugged in while the console is on, and the always-online connection they plan to maintain.
rolleyes.gif I stopped reading after you said you like the PS4 controller better. You haven't even used either, you have no idea which you actually like better.
You know, things like this give quite a lot of reasoning towards being a PC gamer.

Microsoft has a vested interest in getting people interested in the Xbox. Sony has an interest in getting people interested in the PlayStation. But despite maybe some choice hardware companies (some of which already have deep stakes in the console market as well) there is no one, large corporation with a deep marketing budget, aiming specifically to get people to become PC gamers. The fact that there are so many PC gamers in spite of that says a lot about the quality of the platform.

I think plenty of people underestimate the effects of marketing, in a way, and this shows it. Anyone watching TV or reading basic ads isn't going to be involving themselves full-fledged in the discussion, just like how many of us probably don't know the intricacies and controversies of buying the right kind of salad dressing; it's just not a very big part of our lives.
