Wow. actually looks really nice. Hope the corsair reps see this and take notice smile.gif
They need to try their hand again at the air cooling market.

The base would be polished correct? or HDT?

Thanks! and I hope too smile.gif
The base is polished for better contact. Tomorrow I will do more rendering to show how it is inside and without the fans, also the base.

Email them! I'd love to see this in production, it would definitely go into a few of my SFF builds coming up wink.gif

Great idea. Anyone knows an email where I can send this and be sure they will read it?

125 fins in 120mm means they will be too close together for air to flow through them efficiently.

Insulating the heatsink base and pipes is counter productive as any heat radiating of of them is cooling the CPU.

I think your drawing shows 5x double ended heatpipes.. that's not 10 heatpipes.. and 10x 8mm heatpipes will not fit in a single layer in a base. The heatpipes sticking straight up out of base will have very little area in base to work as there is no room for a 90 degree turn in the pipe.

180mm height will be problematic as is too tall for most cases.

But I do like the look of it. thumb.gif

There are 125 fins, but each has a thickness of 0.2 mm, so there is 0.8 mm of space between each fins, this means a total space of 100 mm for air flow. Would use high-strength aluminum, as being so fine would be very fragile. And that's true, there are 5 double pipes. The idea of 180 mm was to have space to install tall RAMs, as the Corsair Dominator Platinum, I want to design another Heat Sink with one of 160mm or less.
Anyway, I do a heat test to the model, to see how it works.

You were right... I have to change the 2 double inner pipes, also the insulating reduces a bit the efficiency xD. Everything else works fine.

What is high strength aluminum? Aluminum alloy you mean?

"Aircraft grade" aluminum is 6061 (mostly silicon) http://www.alcoa.com/mill_products/catalog/pdf/Alcoa_Insert_5052and6061_FINAL.pdf . 7075 and the like are mostly zinc. http://www.alcoa.com/mill_products/catalog/pdf/alloy7075techsheet.pdf

Yes, what I tried to mean was 7075-T6 aluminium. Thanks!
