Just want to post an update. I took the case and all power cord and such on a trial run to a beach house for a weekend. It was a big success with the family. Watched Disney's "John Carter" on a 15 foot projected screen then after the kids went to bed we played GRID 2 in splitscreen way into the morning.
So the trial run was successful, but how about the intended purpose of flying on a plane?
Well this morning I successfully caught a flight from Philadelphia to Atlanta with the computer as my carry on. It went butter smooth. I didn't even have to unpack it for security, just sent the whole case straight through the X-Ray machine. It fit perfectly into the overhead bins, quite a bit easier than some of the other passengers bags that I am sure were under the size requirements *cough*.
One thing I will say is I am not sure if I am actually under the 40 lb limit. According to my home bathroom scale I am at exactly 40 lb. According to the check-in desk's scale (which I placed it one quickly to get a measurement) it is 42.5 lb. I don't trust the calibration for either scale really..... I'll have to get a true scale with balance weight bars to measure at some point.
Heres a photo of the setup in my hotel room...... So is this successful? Does it do what I wanted it to? Yes, Yes it does. Is it flashy or glowing, or even water cooled? No it isn't but I had serious constraints limiting all those things.....
