I/O panel on new MSI z87 gd65 mobo grounding tabs/fins sticking out and not letting me plug in RJ45 (LAN cable) HELP

Hey guys, just purchased an i7 4770k + msi z87 gd65 for new upgrade:

Everything was going good I thought, but I have almost everything assembled and now I went to plug in the RJ45 /LAN cable and noticed it would NOT go in....

I looked a little closer and realized those little fins/grounding tabs on the I/O panel are mis-aligned and one is portruding through the RJ45 /LAN socket on the back of the mobo which is blocking the LAN cable from going in all the way....

hopefully you guys can understand this....

Do I really have to unplug the gfx card, audio card, cooler, all cables to motherboard, then unscrew the motherboard to re-align it!!! frown.gif because that's going to take a **** load of time frown.gif

suggestions???

Same thing happened with my GD65. It doesn't really bother me or keep me from using the ports. But maybe you could try cutting the tip, no pun intended....... maybe with some scissors.

Bro, I went back and disassembled everything and managed to position the motherboard CORRECTLY this time.

It was my fault not perfectly aligning it.

The mobo I/O backside simply 'inserts' inbetween those notches and even makes a "snap" sound when it clicks in.

I didn't have it aligned correct that's why that happened initially.

I wouldn't cut them lol, simply go back and do the job right and align it properly!

Nice. I might go back and do that now that my rig is waiting for parts. Thanks for the heads up.

I have always bent the little pins back and forth until they have come off, pain in the ass TBH lol.
