I can't find any info here on how to get the dang "raid 0 array" off one of the drives to format it for single use!

Hey storage guru's I am frustrated here. I bought 2 identical W.D. Black 500gb sata 3 64mb cache drives for a raid 0 array and they performed perfectly....until the board took a dump that is. I went to use 1 of them for my temporary system as a simple storage drive, but win 7 64 bit won't see it except in disk management and it still shows up as 931gb raid 0 array which is what I named the dual drive raid 0 array. I can't format it with either acronis or Seagate discwizard, and it's like 3 months old if that.
PLEASE HELP fellas, as I have a 3tb drive that I need to copy info off of to put it elsewhere!

Thanks, oldcompgeek

Have you tried using diskpart ?? If you do not know what i am talking about go to start type CMD and open this then type diskpart. You will have to search on net as I do not remember the commands right off the top of my head. but using this you can format it..

Sorry I can not help you more but my books are at home and I am at work in Indonesia answering this.

well thank you first off. I did enter diskpart, and successfully deleted the info. It still lists it as RAID and not dynamic... so I'm still at an impasse but at least got that far. Just want this drive to be a normal drive again...lol

You can change this with diskpart just have to read some more. what has happened is they is a partition on this drive i am sure that has this information on it.. if not you should be able to remove this information

or you might be able to go to disk management and delete disk.. I wish I was there to help trying to remember what to do. I have a win xp machine now.. lets see. I may be wrong here but where it says disk 0 or whatever number this disk has.. right click on this and click on convert to dynamic disk.

Sorry I am trying to remember all of this off my old alcohol soaked brain....

well I just checked it in disk mgt and it still shows the stuff from when I actually got it to install win 7 64 as a single drive, but it still listed it after that as a "raid" drive in diskpart. This mobo doesn't have raid as an option in the regular bios, so when it gets to windows, it doesn't show up. I did, get it to "clean" the drive in diskpart, but it wouldn't change it to dynamic, because when I tried to delete volume or really do anything else, it kept saying "disk 0 is not a dynamic disk".
