Unlock Afterburner limits on lots of cards! some with LLC (One tool for all AB versions) - Page 39

post #381 of 1288
Well, If I only knew.... ATM I'm stuck with LC-ed overclocking card, that just doesn't make me happy. It's almost 150$ for full cover aquagraFX block and it makes me feel like a waste of money and that I've been cheated.

I don't know what people's problem is with not being able to get more than a 109% power limit. I have a MSI GTX 770 Lightening and I've modded the bios so I have a 300% power target. (MSI After burner prevents using even higher than that, ugh). The problem with this mod is that when you add voltage it uses a lot more power. I've yet to figure out how to use this tool to my advantage over +113mv (snaps to 106 and 113 and other strange numbers higher up).

What would be REALLY great is if the mod let afterburners power target go above 300% as that's locked in the same way the +100mv sliders are locked. I have my bios letting the card use 333 watts as the 100% power target and 999 watts (locket from going further) as the maximum watts usable which comes out to exactly 300% in AB. So I've basically hit all the limits and still can't get beyond 1359mhz without getting CTD's and the occasional driver reset/crash in an extremely heavily modded skyrim.

Also, I have no idea what anything in the advanced category does at all. If you read this Rbby258 I'd like to thank you for making this tool, it needed to happen. I'd also like to ask that you name it maybe Rbby or something else (Superburner?) biggrin.gif Then add a version number. It'll feel more official.

Note to Jorginto (reply isn't working): I don't use Kepler bios tweaker for modding Vbioses as it's support of features has fallen behind and has some stupid limitations. (Can't set above 4000mhz memory). Svets Vbios Tuner is where it's at. Constant development and he even fixed the 4000mhz limitation in his tool the day after I submitted a bug report. WAAY Worth the $20 (and impossible to get a copy of otherwise).

@cookieboyeli

On 680 Lt, you've got A3 bios. So it's a bit not fair toward 770 Lt users and 109% power cap. I dont have a problem to support Svets actions, but paying 20 bucks for editing tool is just not ok. I guess MSI should treat 680 nad 770 Lt users equaly.

In Rbbys tool advenced doesnt work in my case also. I think it's only for NPC4206 voltage cotroller and fixing vdrop.

With 109% power target my card begins throttling above 1380/1400 MHz. Usually I test it +150/175/200/225mV. I get to work 24/7 1400/1,35V in all tests, benchmarks and BF3/ 4 beta. OFC it goes higher, but due to throttling makes no sense to push it further. My max GPU score in 3dmark11 is almost 13100 points and valley (extremeHD) 55-56 FPS.

BTW, could you send me your copy of the bios for testing.

@Jorginto

Well I searched high and low for ANY way to do it otherwise. And you're right. We shouldn't have to pay. But I'm pretty sure the tool wouldn't be nearly as well maintained or frequently updated as it is if it were a free option. It's the only thing I've EVER paid for and it's SOOOO worth it. Most of those limitations are in place because they test under the most extreme conditions to ensure a card cannot fail and thus get returned. However even with my 300% power I run into the top and get throttled within 2 minutes of playing a high load game like Skyrim with ENB and enough mods to make a titan look like a good buy.

Absolutely, here's my current Vbios. It's not as stable as I'd like it to be. I'd like to be able to run through Heaven 3 times on max settings, but it can only make it through once or sometimes almost once.

Rename it with .rom. I use Kepler Bios tweaker + nvflash 5.142 for reading and flashing.

gpu0.zip 163k .zip file

I haven't bothered benchmarking it in 3dmark11. Honestly there are so many 3dmark programs and presets and versions I don't know which one the enthusiast community uses to compare/boast with.

Thx alot, I'll give it a go after work and let you know about the results.

To be honest, I find it a bit odd, that Svet is selling private tweaking software on official MSI forum. If you burn your card while having non official bios, it's automatic warranty void. Anyway if Your bios doest work on my LT, I'll buy the tool from Svet and try to edit on my own.

Overclockingwise:
With +100 mV I was also doing around 1350's. You have to give it more juice, but mind the temps. I was testing higher volts on air at 100% fan speed.

Hey, your bios is a total disaster for me. Power target slider is locked and it's very unstable. The one thing that I noticed is the batch number BC.00.23 and mine is C3.00.35. Well thanks anyway, it was worth a shot.

Anyone know if I can increase the voltage past 1.200V on a Zotac GTX 770 4GB using this mod? Using EVGA Precision X and MSI Afterburner I can move the voltage slider to 1.212V but it does not do anything as far as I can tell by monitoring with GPU-Z, Zotac Firestorm, MSI Afterburner or EVGA Precision X.

I can overclock and get a boost clock of 1267MHz (1150MHz at stock settings) with 7500+MHz memory clock (7012 at stock settings, I can push the memory harder too). I would like to get some extra voltage to see if I can push it harder. I tried using the Kepler BIOS Tweaker to poke around in my BIOS, but I could not figure out how to raise the voltage past 1.2V.

I looked up the module on my Zotac card and it is a Richtek RT8802A.

Thanks in advance.
