I'm now more confused, intel or AMD. And not sure what to decide, my decision totally depends on all of you guys now. As I'm quite low on budget, I was preferring AMD.
And, coming to monitor part, currently I have an old screen, max res. is 1600*900(talks at home about buying an LCD/LED TV(this would work as monitor too, right?)), so I will use this new TV as my screen, and will play games at higher or HD res.
If you're gaming on a 46 inch 1080p TV. Then I would suggest the AMD Build Listed here
that puts you under your $800 budget without rebates. You could buy an aftermarket cooler like The Hyper 212 Evo
AMD FX-8350 4.0GHz 8-Core Processor
Asus M5A99FX PRO R2.0 ATX AM3+ Motherboard
Kingston HyperX 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
Sapphire Radeon HD 7870 GHz Edition 2GB Video Card
Antec EarthWatts Green 650W 80 PLUS Bronze Certified ATX12V Power Supply
Base Total: $759.18
Combo Discounts: -$11.00
Mail-in Rebates: -$25.00
The 7870 is more than capable of pushing 1080p with some extra eye candy enabled. I personally game on htpc and a xbox 360 controller, which is powered by a core-i5 2500K and Radeon HD 5850, at the same resolution with no problems. i play all the latest titles at 35-50 fps depending on the title. I cant tell you the last time i touched my Xbox 360.
