help with 2500k @ 4.5GHz

Thread Starter
ok im back AGAIN, trying to OC this i5 to 4.5GHZ
im using an Asrock Extreme 3 Gen 3 Mobo and a CM 212 EVO

ive tried several combos with offset and ive gotten it running at 1.328 using offset +0.20 and 0.25 with LLC 3
but if i try to go any lower it crashes. so i thought about running voltage on auto with LLC on 1.. and its hitting 1.440v so far =/
so now i have it on +0.20 with LLC 2 and its getting 1.336 max. but its hovering around 1.320-1.328.
also with voltage on auto it hasnt been stable with any other LLC on besides LLC1 which makes it run at said 1.44v which feels WAY TO HIGH for 4.5ghz
any who this is a screen shot of current prime

also if you need bios screens just let me know

The Auto setting for the Offset voltage setting is only for stock.

Anyway, how long is your system able to run Pime95's Blend test?

Personally I just run mine at 4.3 with everything at stock, with the exception of those two c states that cause the idle freeze lock.
I can't take prime seriously, can you run linpack and tell us your Max temp using real temp at 4.5 and if it's stable.

Before I left prime was stable for 15 minutes before I had to turn it off
So when I get back ill run it again and let you know

Also I'm thinking about getting a new case ( currently using NZXT Apollo) does the corsair 500r have a filter for its side fan? I can't find any detail if it does

I'd use the turbo ratio. Easiest way and the most power friendly.

Set both Turbo power limit to 180
Change Turbo ratio to 45

DONE! Check the voltage going into the cpu at 4.5.
Slowly lower or bump up the turbo power depending on the chip until your stable most the most power efficient overclock

What kind of cpu voltage are u seeing? That temp looks a little too high for 212 Evo.

its varying around 1.30-.132. the max it has been on is 1.336 but it only spikes to that and drops within a second
