Even more with the i5-3570K + Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD3H

These are universal chips and excel in all areas. Gaming being one of them. They may not have as many physical cores as the 8350 but they don't need to as their individual cores are vastly superior. Yes, VASTLY.

Buy with your head, not your heart thumb.gif

i don't see a vast difference in the two platforms
when these processors are overclocked that is when they really compete.

i don't know about any of the new haswell motherboards, but the am3+ platform has definitely had a few revisions by now.

this sums all this up....

choosing-a-gaming-cpu

A CPU for Dual GPU Gaming: i5-2500K or FX-8350
A CPU for Quad-GPU Gaming: i7-3770K with a PLX motherboard
A CPU for Tri-GPU Gaming: i7-3770K with an x8/x4/x4 (AMD) or PLX (NVIDIA) motherboard

As you can see the AMD falls sort after regular SLi or CF-X..
the GTX 780's are some powerful GPU's..

this is very true
amd is noticeably slower in cpu limited games

Civ V in all fairness is the one benchmark AMD doesn't like as the game is so CPU driven.
AMD has no chance in it.
