When I'm playing World of Warcraft my screen has vertical colored lines over the entire screen. It just started happening today, Anyone ever had this problem? I just built this computer a few weeks ago and this is the first time I'm having problems.

Sounds like GPU artifacts. Try downloading ATI Tool from www.techpowerup.com and run it's Artifact Scanning mode. If you can make it for at least an hour, the lines are probably not caused by your GPU and we can move on to other possible causes.

What is the exact P/N of your 7900GT?
Lower the memory frequency about 50 mhz and if that eliminates the distortion you probably have a card with the bad memory.
RMA case likely.
How long have you had the card and what temperatures do you see in game?

Read this here and if you have one of the 56X versions then your cards memory is failing.

The simplest metod to determine this is to lower the memory some.

You could also try enabling vsync if what your getting is screen tearing.

I had that problem with my other rig. I have a BFG 6800 GT OC 128MB AGP 8x in that rig. I already had setup a RMA with BFG and then I had also bought a new harddrive so I started fresh with that one and never had the problem again. Then going back to the other harddrive when my New Card (BFG 7950 GT OC 512MB) was DOA, I went back to old rig with old hard drive and I had no problems for like 3-4 weeks I was on that rig.

Mind you I did atleast 1 case transfer between the times. Try taking your entire computer out and rebuild it and use compressed air to get everything cleaned out. Reseat your CPU too.

i don't think thats necessary because it's clean. It hasn't happened since a couple days ago... Maybe it was a random spaz but I don't want it to be a problem in the future.
