I have been experimenting and now use 1.25V for 4.75 GHZ stable and have turned on C3/6/7 with manual voltage.
Now I get nice idle power of 5-10 W with the added benefit of being able to run handbrake (AVX enabled) without the extra 0.1 V...the extra 0.1 V actually makes my overclock unstable (trust me I've tried increasing VCCIN, etc no help - I think its just the nature of my chip and its not temperature - I've delidded and running watercooling - max temp 71 C with IBT).
Anyways - any harm with running manual voltage with c3/6/7 enabled?

I don't see why you'll get harm.
My keyboard has been acting up sometimes. Especially on Crysis 3... when I'm typing right now it's completely normal. On some instances during Crysis 3 multiplayer, the CM Storm Trigger would quickly lose power, then get power again. It doesn't happen that much but when it does it's kind of annoying. My guess would be, keyboard is draining too much power out of USB port but that is just a guess. Did not have this problem on my old computer...
Then again I've had my internet just go out on my PC only which I did not experience with my old computer. Might be Killer NIC acting up. A restart always fixes the issue.
I'm saying this here because a superstitious, non-rational part of my brain wants to pin it on my CPU overclock, LOL. Those issues don't act up often enough to be a real problem or to force me to really start looking for solutions, but I wonder why it happens.
Regarding my overclock guys:
I originally stated, 1.27v at 4.5, 1.35v at 4.6 and I'm taking that figure back.
Now it's more like 1.28v at 4.5, 1.38v at 4.6. Sad faice. I can still shoehorn in 1.38v on D14 simply by not doing Linpack or Prime however. 1.38v even with adaptive at chess (adaptive and chess means voltage does hit an extra 0.025v extra) should net OK temps, bearable. For now I'm reverting to 1.28v at 4.5ghz.
For my overclocking thread on this forum, when I list the statistics, I really don't want to deceive so I had to go back and edit my own overclock results on the chart.
