Also, doesn't DSL have a much lower up speed than cable?
DSL > Cable in terms of upload speeds, in download, no.
DSL > Cable in terms of uptime, depends on the telephone line, had this connection (2mbit/512kbit) for 1½ year now, and it have never failed us apart from where they had planned maintenance (CyberCity is my ISP), whereas my other ISP (2mbit/128kbit @ TDC as ISP) went down quite regularily.
Ironic to think when TDC is the company that owns all the telephone cables in Denmark.
rottenotto, I can't confirm that, but I'm 95% sure that it's not that way in Denmark. The ISP sends the power through the phone, and they use their own generators so it's never down-
You shouldn't have been knowing the Barsebäck catastrophe not long ago, do you?
Sweden had a nuclear reactor fail and half of Scandinavia were put dark.
Telephones not working because there was so many that was worried
RX7Speed > We don't have cable in Denmark (yet) so I can't really check you on that one, I'm guessing you're right, but I rarely loose a packet on DSL, whereas some cable in beta made me lose alot
of packets through gaming.
For Europe: Fiber (Faster, more reliable, though when something fails, it takes YEARS to fix) > DSL > Cable
For US (Not sure): Fiber > Cable > DSL?
