[Barnes&Noble BestBuy Walmart Target] 16GB NOOK HD+ Tablet $149

The 9 inch tablet Nook HD+ is on sale for $149 + tax at various places like Barnes and Noble, Best Buy, Walmart, Target, and probably other retail stores. The sale is either for Father's Day or it might very well be getting discontinued.

Barnes and Noble

Best Buy

Walmart

Target

16GB version - $149
32GB version - $179

Capable, relatively light-weight, 9 inch high resolution tablet with micro sd support. But no camera and uses Nook-only proprietary connection usb cable.

It's normally $269 for the 16GB version but it was on sale during the week before Mother's Day for $179.

I ended up with two of these during the Mother's Day sale (found out from CRosko42 on this forum)

When I got them for $180, I thought it was a good deal... at $150, it's a great deal. I typed out a review to put here but it turned out much too long. Long story short: adequate processor/gpu with a stunning screen but can get warm/almost hot depending on use and display color tinting will vary from unit to unit. Let me know if you want to know any specifics or have any questions. Hopefully other HD+ owners chime in too

The 7 inch version, Nook HD, is also on sale but if you're looking for a 7 inch tablet, your money is better spent on the Hisense Sero 7 Pro HERE

Still love mine.

Using it every day to read and play some lite games before bed.

Rooted running cm 10.1 and running great.

This is an absolute steal @$150.

Picked up another one just to gift later.

Not going to lie, I'm pretty pissed about this sale, after getting it just a few weeks ago during the Mothers' Day sale. If it was months later, fine, but we're literally talking weeks here. And it's just outside of the 14 day return policy, and they know it.

I'm happy with my tablet, but would very much have liked to save another $30, since that could be put towards something else as a college student.

Can you run cm 10.1 off its internal storage instead of thru the micro sd card? And also, any bugs in cm 10.1 with nook? I remember cm 10 had this bug with the volume controls not responding when using a full screen app (such as a game). Thanks for informing me of this during the Mothers Day sale btw

I feel you... but then again, if we put the tablet to good use and enjoyment the past month or so, its not too bad lol. Thanks for your input in the previous sale thread btw... helped me decide on grabbing them

Yes to internal install with custom recovery, see here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2263553

It is updated every few days (somtimes longer in between)

There is also a tablet conversion a guy created for the install located here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2275939

I have been running both with no problems, but some have reported issues here and there but they are fixed as they pop up. At this point it is near perfect for me at least.
