LGA 1150 Compatibility question

Thread Starter
Hey guys, im going to buy a thermalright true spirit 140 for my build. I heard 1155 and 1150 use the same mounting plate, so i have to follow the lga1155 instructions on the manual. Also, will i have a problem with tall ram on this heatsink? i will be using a Corsair C70 with this heatsink.

I would say you should be okay with both. The mounting size is exactly the same.

The Question has been asked and this is all I got currently Thread go to post 1058

No clear answer though.

I don't believe LGA 1155 and 1150 have mounting is exactly the same (unless some owner can confirm). If that would have been the case then Noctua wouldn't be giving extra mounting stuff to it's customers: http://www.techpowerup.com/181644/noctua-provides-free-mounting-upgrade-for-upcoming-intel-haswell-platform.html

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, I also need to know this as well.

From the page you linked to

Due to the spacing of the mounting holes being identical on LGA1150, LGA1155 and LGA1156, Noctua's previous SecuFirm2 mounting systems for LGA115x also support Intel's upcoming 'Haswell' platform.

The mounting kit is for 775 >115x

I to need(ed) to know, I have my Hyper 212x sitting here, way to many ways to set it up so I just put the stock intel cooler on for now. I did not want to take the time to experiment or risk breaking something. All I had was my phone for googling.

I might actually leave it on there, temps are low and things are quiet.

The NH-L12 already comes with all type of mounting kits till 1155/2011 but I see it's also mentioned in the link I cited.
