Mounting external USB 3 hard drive internally.

I'm just finishing my first build and would like to mount my old Samsung M3 drive internally but can't find an adapter that would let me connect it to the mobo usb3 header and also get power to it. Very grateful for any suggestions.

Just remove the drive from it's case and connect it to Sata2.

I have removed it from its case and it's not a sata connector, it's a micro usb with an equally micro power connection. Was hoping someone could recommend a y-splitter that would go from this unusual connector to mobo usb 3 and molex for power.

You will have to just run the cables from inside, outside....and in that sense, it makes more sense just to leave it as an external drive on your desk. There is no Ysplitter for molex to micro-usb.

I was beginning to suspect that was the case, thanks for the confirmation.
