I'm finishing up on a benchmark of popular defragmenters, and I want to make sure that I'm not skipping any popular ones in my test (the list I have included above is a nearly complete list, not a list of the ones that I've tested so far).
I'm also interested in getting an idea of which ones are popular and which ones only a few people use.

Thank you all for your input! thumb.gif

Though I have given up using Windows in favor of Linux, I was previously (a couple months ago) using Piriform Defraggler. It works pretty well and has all of the features I could ask for (i.e. boot-time defrag, free space defrag, individual file defrag, etc.).

I used System Mechanic a while back when I was running XP. It was a decent utility set, but I think it got too bloated around version 6. It's been a while since I've tried it.

For the record; I selected "Other" because I'm been exclusively using an experimental defragmenter that I wrote.  I wrote it because I wasn't satisfied with the small speed improvement and sub-optimal disk layout offered by many of the other defragmenters.

64+ views and only 10 votes?  I was hoping for a more representative poll—but perhaps if everyone voted we'd only get a lot of "None" entries! wink.gif

Auslogics disk defrag. It's set to automatically defragment the drive when system is idle. It doesn't automatically defragment the drive if one has already been done in the past 12 hours to save wear and tear on the hard disk itself.

wink.gif  What do you find objective about MyDefrag?  Personally, I don't care for its name; but getting over that, it is currently one of the best defragmenters according to my test results so far.  I guess I'll have to test JkDefrag too (in my test, I was skipping it in favor of the newer MyDefrag).

Anyway, that's the kind of information that I'm needing: People are still using JkDefrag in favor of MyDefrag, so I will add JkDefrag to my test. thumb.gif

O&O Defrag Professional. I like the ability to set custom rules for the inner, middle, and outer sections of eachddriv, the parallel dDefrag of all the drives with no speed loss, the option to arrange files by name, last access, or last modification date not only per drive but per section of each drive, and so forth.

I also have Auslogics Pro, Ultra Defrag, Defraggler, MyDefrag, and a few others. I'm of the opinion that each does something better than the others, but it seems likeO&O is the best overall. Plus I like the tracking over time.
