XSPC Razor GTX Titan Backplate on GTX 780 Reference cooler

Hey guys,

I have a question.
I wanted to buy an EVGA GTX 780 backplate for my 2 780's, the thing is.. they do not have them, in the EU webshop and they said the 780 backplate will be in stock this week.. Apparently not. I don't like a company saying a product will be available when it's actually not, while the US had the chance to get the backplates already.

So I was looking further and noticed the XSPC Razor GTX Titan backplate which actually looks better than the EVGA backplate in my opinion. The thing is though, I only seen videos and pictures with the backplate being mounted together with the Watercool block of XSPC.

Now the question is: can I put the XSPC GTX Titan Backplate (which obviously fit the GTX 780 aswell due to the same PCB) on a GTX 780 with the reference cooler? The only thing that differs from the EVGA backplate is the last 2 screws at the end of the Backplate, EVGA has those screw holes while XSPC has a foampad at the end of the backplate as shown in the images below.

Edit: Or is it possible to keep the screws that are missing on the backplate, to keep those screws in and only remove the screws that are required for the backplate's installation?

I think I would wait. I have not seen the PCB but I would imagine there is a reason those screws are missing on the titan back.

The PCB of both the GTX Titan and the GTX 780 are the same. The only thing that differs are the memory on the back and some other minor stuff, but the screw placements are exactly the same.

On the website of XSPC they say: "Backplate for reference design GTX Titan and GTX780 cards. The backplate helps cool the memory on the back of the card."

But I want to know if it can go with the reference cooler instead of their waterblock. I think it's possible to keep the 2 screws at the end of the card in the PCB and the reference cooler and just put the backplate over the screws.
Maybe that's also the reason the XSPC backplate has that foam on the back, so the two screws in the PCB/reference cooler doesn't scratch the backplate.

do the evga backplate will fit the xspc razor on a gtx 780 ??? i rather the evga backplate than the xspc because the space on the graphic processor to put a sensor !!

Just received my razor backplate today and I can say that everything aligns perfecly and would fit, but the screws they provide are much too large to properly thread into the mounting holes. I have an EVGA 780 SC edition which still uses the reference cooler. Didn't see any other posts regarding this issue so Ive contacted xspc and am awaiting a response.

Which screws would you recommend using?

So the XSPC rep just confirmed that the backplate screws are designed to work with the XSPC Razor waterblock installed. You could however make this work with the reference cooler by simply getting screws from your local hardware store that match the threads but are a couple mm longer.

So what length do the screws need to be for the backplate to be used on a GTX 780 SC/ I know the screws included with the backplate are M3.
