Upgrade from G15?

Thread Starter
I was looking at the G19, but to be honest, I dont really use the G macro keys I have now, and I've had problems with the keys having to hold them down harder than what you really should to maintain their "pressed" state.

For example, running in BF3, you hold Shift, If I release just the slighest pressure from it, even though the key is fully depressed, the shift key will act as though its been lifted and stop me from running.

I cleaned my keyboard thinking that was the issue, I then tried on a second G15 and it was the same, so I'm pretty positive its a Logitech thing.

So I like the keys and how they are lit, the display of the keyboard, and the wrist support of the G series keyboards, but having to put so much pressure on the keys gets annoying after hours of gameplay.

Mechanical keyboards are incredibly loud, so I'll likely not get one. What other options are out there?

Edit: I will be using this keyboard mainly for gaming. So if a Mechanical is the best option, which one would it be?

A good mechanical keyboard is not much louder than keyboards like the G15 unless you go with the Cherry MX Blues. the click isn't bad though! The sound you're talking about is the keycap being slammed down just like you get on keyboards like the G15.

Based on the problem you're having, I do recommend a good mechanical keyboard because then you'll never have this problem ever again. Unfortunately, I've been out of the loop so long that I don't know what to recommend anymore. Although, I've heard that the Leopold keyboards are very nice:

Get something with MX Red switches and get O-rings to avoid it bottoming out and making too much noise.

I had a G15(v2) too, and have a Nighthawk X8 by Max Keyboard now. With MX Brown switches.

If I were you, I'd go with a Ducky with either Red or Brown switches.
