Well sort of.. the 74 is a different rifle and round all together. Same mechanism of firing and all but still. 74 shoots 5.45x39mm while the 47 shoots 7.62x39mm. The 5.45x39mm is essentially the russian equivalent to the 5.56x45mm Nato though tends to tumble a lot more.

If they bring back an AK variant with 7.62x39mm i imagine it will be the modern AK103.

Yep... but everyone on these forums whined they needed bigger maps rolleyes.gif or the game would capsize. Guess what? They gave bigger maps, no one plays them, and everyone congregates on the FUN maps, with the game maintaining an incredible sales amount and strong multiplayer presence to this day years later. What a shocker: forum armchair game designers don't always know what's best tongue.gif: !

Every gun to me feels pretty similar. And while i do feel some are overpowered mainly the m16 and AEK it doesn't really stop me from doing well with the AUG or the SCAR-L in Normal or HC mode. As for sniping just get the M40, straight pull (which in reality there is none :/), and a ELCAN or red dot in HC it's fun as hell. Though people tend to get mad at you because you can just run around one shotting people as if it were the K98 on the first COD.

The M16A3, AEK, and M416 are easily the "best" assault rifles. M16A3 dominates mid-long ranges, AEK dominates short-mid range, and the M416 is just a good catch-all. The G3, AN94, and KH2002 are good but probably no better than the others, and this is coming from a guy that has been mostly using the SCAR-L and the L85 recently, both of which play differently enough that I use them for different occasions. If anything the assault rifles play the most differently of any other weapon class, though it may be MGs. And if you really want an assault rifle that's "different" try using the FAMAS

The M98B most certainly does not shoot like any of the other bolt action sniper rifles. It has the lowest drop and - or rather, because - it has the highest muzzle velocity. Not to mention its magazine only holds 5+1 rounds as opposed to the typical 10+1. As for the rest, it mostly comes down to bullet drop and muzzle velocity, subtle differences but different enough that they're noticeable.

+1. And the FAMAS, if used properly, will literally melt people in CQC, and odn't forget about the F2000. The M416 has the shortest reload, and the M16A3 has the shortest empty reload.

a lot of games, whenever they show what buttons do what, usually show a very-accurate picture of the button.......at least the ones I've played. Just seems weird the triggers in the on-screen display look like the Xbox One triggers.

It Might be, I most likely wont be buying it as I have had enough of multiplayer fps games like this.

I like small maps where the gameplay is fast and you can jump on have a game or two then jump back off because some people who play game have lives and family as well. I could do this in the modern-warfare games but got sick of the hackers and decided to move to BF3. I had a lot of fun with it but good matches a too few and far between.

I would however look at buying BF4 if they fixed the following issues or at least some of them.

-Spawn points
-A way for close quarters battle without getting sniped all of the time
-Reduce sun glare
-Add the ability to change loadout while waiting for the next match
-Ditch battlelog and build something into the game
-Ditch the blue tint

So yes it's fair to say nobody plays them because you are right but it's not because people don't want to play them it's more complicated than that. If more players played the game and servers had better map rotations or none at all so people cold play the maps they wanted, when they wanted then things would be different.

BF2 had more karkand 24/7 servers than you could count. The only 24/7 servers I know of are metro servers. If we had 24/7 karkand servers or other maps that I like and a larger player base, then I'd play the game more because I'd know I could get into the game and play the way I want to play all the time and I'm sure many more would also.

The biggest reason the big maps aren't played now is because the players who wanted those types of maps stopped playing the game long before those maps were released and aren't around to play them.

One of my biggest gripes with bf3 is all the weapons feel monotonous. I would be happy if there was half the amount of assault rifles in bf4 as in bf3 if they all felt and shot differently.

Sniper rifles are the same too, all so boring and bland. You could literally have one .338 rifle and one semi auto sniper in bf4 and it would still feel just the same as bf3.

m98b, awp/L96, m40a5, JNG-90, SV98....they all feel and shoot the same

Mk 11, SVD, SKS, M82A3, M39 EMR, QBU-88, M417...they all feel and shoot the same.

Agreed.

Funny thing is Alan Kertz, the man responsible for the BF3 wepaons agrees with you and preferred the BC2 weapons which to me did feel more individual and I liked the pace of gun fights a lot better. How that works (since he was responsible for it) I don't know but I hope he changes things up for BF4 because it is very boring having all the weapons feel soo similar.

I disagree. I prefer being able to browse the servers in-game, instead of having to use a website to do so.
