Amd Prices down more than expected! - Page 3

The performance game of C2D is going to be hardly noticeable to most people. Yeah a C2D will do better than an AMD Opty or X2 in benchies, but who cares really?
Wouldn't you rather have a good AMD dual core proc and a good GPU, than a C2D and a ****ty GPU?

I was trying to decide between 5200 and conroe e6600?

Whats the diff? Its my decision right? or will I get flamed for making my own decision.

Either way, I have an M2nPV asus board. Read up on it. Ram voltages, overclocking, not happening. SO, which ever route I end up with, I would need to change out my motherboard regardless.

Hey, if some big price war rages on, I might just go with the cheaper deal.

It's my choice..

take some acid and look at amd and intels logo in an 8" by 11" norm paper.

look at them and whichever one "Is pleasent to look at" is the one u buy.

you could do this with weed but you would probably forget. and a decent amount of weed is required for full effect (like a quarter or 50-sac)

i wouldnt worry about upgrading untill Intel and/or amds new stuff. just make due wit watcha got man.

And a good choice indeed Too bad you bought that crappy mobo, because the AM2s OC really well on a decent 100$ nF4 Asus or DFI.

That 5200+ Is a DAMN good deal, I would most definitely take it over a E6600! I believe the the 5200+ is quite a bit faster than the E6600 also. $287 vs $310, I'd take the 5200+ for $287 thanks.

If you believe this to be true, do you possibly have any proof? I would like to see benchmarks proving this "belief" of yours.

Now First off, I never mentioned a 3800+. where that came into this is beyond me.

If I need a new mainboard, ram, and prcoessor, it makes sense to pay $309.00 instead of $287.00. A bit more for the Conroe, sure. Have you seen benches comparing the two?> If I'd rather spend 22 bucks more on a Conroe, it's my prerogative. I need a ram upgrade, my board sucks for supporting ram. Or at least anything with higher voltage requirements.

I'm not bustin on anyone who chooses a 3800+. I'm just looking to the future, and it doesn't seem like AMD's performance line will be staying with AM2.

Nor did I say people had to go Conroe.

Such animosity...
"Paying a several dollar difference, you could get a e6600."

"Intel Kinda made it impossible for AMD's old stuff to compete, even with lower prices"

Just saying it was very possible for budgetted builds, and its more like a $50 difference in most circumstances.

Or you could just get the best and go C2D and good GPU like a x19xx

although if you need to save cash AMD is a good extra choice
