Recommend a tablet?

My laptop's battery has died. So, I can either replace it, or buy a tablet. I'm leaning towards a tablet because I can have it in my bed (laptop is just too bulky/gets too hot for that) and, well, carry it around since it's lighter than my laptop.

What I'll be using it for is just tumblr, OCN, other web page browsing, taking pictures, movies/videos, music, etc. Real casual use. Maybe a few games (if I feel like trying them) but probably nothing too hardcore.

Price range can be $400 to $600. But there's ONE condition. It NEEDS to be purchasable in a store located in CANADA.

Any recommendations? I have no idea what to look at when it comes to tablets.

That's the one I've had my eye on. A friend also said he has one and loves it. Thanks for sharing your input smile.gif

ASUS' Transformer series. With a Dock they are Amazing and battery life is about 11+ hours with both fully charged. Not to mention Full USB support and HDMI. Really can't go wrong.

The iPad mini uses the iPad 2 hardware in a smaller screen (8 or 9" I think)

Jailbreak it and you've got all the freedom you ever need.

Nexus 10 is pretty good. But iPads are no slouch either, even though everyone on OCN hates 'em rolleyes.gif I still think they're good, just overpriced.
