Generally, you want to always keep your monitor at the highest possible resolution (only because this will also result in the most crisp picture possible with that monitor). As for video card, whatever resolution you use is going to effect demand for performance. Basically: more pixels = more work for the video card. That said, 1600x900 is still considered a fairly small area for modern video cards. The 650 ti Boost is a solid mid-range card. Will you be able to play on max settings for every game? Well maybe not, actually. But it'll run well enough that most everything will look phenomenal.
