I was pulling apart an old computer (q6600) that had some issues to see if anything was visibly damaged/burned out, and to my surprise the mobo was warped! (It's very noticeable to the naked eye) It seems like the way the HSF pushed on the CPU warped the mobo. I put on a different cooler and it actually straightened it out a big since the backplate gives it a bit of support, but the stock HSF doesn't have a backplate, it's just those pins that stick through.
