Former MX 518 owner needs a mouse recommendation

Thread Starter
Hi,

I was using a Logitech MX 518 for some years now, using it with a palm grip and at 1800 DPI. Guess I have normal sized hands / long fingers.

I stuck the cable between my desk and the wall as a mouse bungee and now the mouse stopped working.

Was about to order a G400 but read here that the G400 is not good at higher DPI settings than 800.

I mostly play Starcraft 2 but also sometimes some Ego-Shooters.

Any recommendations for me? Is the G500 better than the G400?

Thanks in advance!

Oh yes and I use a Stellseries 4 HD mouse pad

if you like the mx518 and its optical sensor, you probably won't like the g500's laser off-center sensor. the g400 is fine at 1800, but if you're still worried, you could try a deathadder or savu. (as much as i dislike razer and their deathadders, they are decent mice unlike the rest of their lineup)

though if you're not very big on shooters, and aren't bothered by acceleration, there's definitely a large selection of laser-sensored mice that could suit your tastes.

i went from a 518 to a CM Storm Sentinel Advance II and like it took some getting used to but it has a adjustable dpi from 200 to 8400 if i recall and comes with weights.
