Windows won't detect DVD/CD Rom Drive

Hey guys. Friend's computer won't detect his DVD R/W or CD Rom Drive. The bios detects them fine, and I've checked IDE Cables - they're definitely sound.

He says he will reinstall windows, but that seems a bit much for a problem that should be pretty simple to solve. Anyone have this problem before?

That seems Odd. Try making the Drives Priority to Cable select and try again.

Yeah, it's set to CS. It must be a driver error, or perhaps registry

Its most likely a Registry error. Use Registry mechanic here to sort thos issues http://www.pctools.com/registry-mechanic/?ref=googleA

This happened to me too.

Just update your drivers and it will work.

Download Nero 7 and it has drivers ...

Good luck
