I live in Australia and am a tradesmen that works on roofs. You can't escape the sun or the reflections. But the difference is I can wear sunglasses to reduce it and in the game you can not. If I don't walk around during the day being blinded by the sun and reflecting light why on earth would I want to in a game. If you want your gaming experience ruined, that's fine but some people don't so a compromise needs to be made or an option to turn it off included. Anything other than that is just selfish and counter productive to the improvement of something and I have no interest in such opinions or comments.
You obviously have a different kind of sunlight down there. In Greece, you absolutely can't take a look at the sun even with expensive sunglasses on - you'd get an immediate sun slap-I can only imagine how worse this is gonna feel in middle east or Iran . The game does huge justice to this effect and I am glad it is there, since this bf3 likes to position itself apart COD and the like. Sometimes it succeeds and sometimes it doesn't. Turning off the option then what? Remove suppression, and recoil as well?-I know many that are annoyed by those. It doesn't work like that.
The only truly bad/unrealistic implementation of "lighting" that I can think of is scope glare. It should be connected to lighting sources, and not a product of the scope itself.
