NVIDIA this gen: PNY (also makes Quadros), EVGA, Leadtek (also makes Quadros), ELSA (also makes Quadros), Ryoyo (quadros), Galaxy, Palit (had HD4800 series), Gainward (had HD4800 series), ZOTAC (has a Zbox with Radeon)

http://www.nvidia.com/object/pf_boardpartners.html narrows it to EVGA, PNY, ZOTAC, Galaxy

AMD has Sapphire (makes Firepros in Asian markets), Powercolor/VTX3D/Club3D (TUL Corp), XFX (this gen), HIS, Diamond, Visiontek (makes firepros for Dell)

Hm interesting. Asus, MSI, etc ? They are not partners of either one I take ? Asus DCUII and MSI Lighting series are pretty sweet non-reference designs for guys who are not partners, but granted, they do these with both companies, I think.

ASUS/Gigabyte/MSI are not exclusive board partners but since they're so big Nvidia/AMD must deal with it tongue.gif

MSI is already on NVIDIA's sh**list for voltage mods though (http://www.overclockers.com/nvidia-says-no-to-voltage-control , http://techreport.com/news/23678/nvidia-program-ties-gpu-warranty-support-to-voltage-limits)

Otherwise it'd be like XFX
Quote:
Several reports claim a bit of a pissing match between NVidia and XFX over XFX’s recent decision to start selling AMD product. They claim NVidia began witholding Fermi chips to strongarm them, and eventual delisted them from the ‘approved partner list’. Seems they just got tired of fighting and now they’re going AMD only. - See more at: http://www.vizworld.com/2010/10/xfx-nvidia-breakup-real-time/

Already in my list, Alpha culled it from his for some red reason. Palit and Gainward dropped AMD

I don't think nVidia will really miss Club as an AIB, Club also has more options with AMD cards. They've always been a minor company wrt nVidia products.

Makes sense Club does this though.

Here are our response in regards to your inquiry;

I'm planning to upgrade my GFX card to 7870 Eyefinity 6 version and as yours is one of the few available in this category I have some questions before I decide which one to buy.
(1) At first glance I must have missed the warranty conditions. Do you have some web-page where I can read your warranty conditions? In particular I'm interested in (a) if replacing the stock cooler voids the warranty, (b) if overclocking voids the warranty.
ANSWER: We offer two years warranty to our customers. On our website you can go to our support section / Warranty http://www.club-3d.com/index.php/support/warranty.en.html
The replacement of the stock cooler does not void the warranty, you simply have to place back the original cooler when you need to service the card. If testing detect improper use of the card (no thermal paste on the GPU, damage of the PCB due to cooler replacement etc you might get your warranty voided. Overclocking does not void the warranty.
(2) Second question is technical. Is the card voltage locked, i.e., can I change the voltage of the GPU core through AMD Catalyst control center or MSI Afterburner or is the value set in cards BIOS and not accessible through drivers ?
ANSWER: No but you need to be careful with the voltage. You probably have to use third party software to adjust the settings, with AMD catalyst you will be able to read but not adjust.
(3) Is there any reviews by third party sites you are aware of and perhaps could provide link for in case I have missed any ?
ANSWER: We do not have a review on this specific card as not to many reviewers offer a test for 6 screens. You can check our www.youtube.com/club3dtv to check on our own testing on this card.
(4) What are the AMD control center (in the drivers) AMD Overdrive maximum limits for this cards core clock and memory clock ?
ANSWER: This really depends on each individual system, normally the gap on this cards are about 15% safe.
(5) Do you know if there is a single slot bracket available for this card ? I.e., a single slot bracket with 6x mini displayport opening fitting for this card without the grill covering the second slot ? If not is it possible to order a replacement bracket (the same the card comes with) from you and if it is what would be the rough cost estimate for such item ?
ANSWER: No as this card supports 6 outputs. The only way we can think of doing so is to dremmel the second slot. We will service the card if in case is defective anyways, the bracket is not an expensive part of the card.

I hope this answers your questions and does not leave anything open. Further questions please feel free to contact us.

Regards,

Club 3D Team

Thats from a customer support ticked I opened with them a while ago when I was debating what GFX card to buy.

Edit: I can tell from personal experience that they do live up to these terms. I had some problems with their 7870 Eyefinity 6 card, reseller was out of business so I had to contact Club3D directly and while at first the experience was a bit rough as they assumed that I have fried the card myself then after putting the card through extra investigation and deciding that its not possible to repair it they did send me a new card instead. While they are usually not as cheap as Sapphire their warranty conditions seem a bit better and well worth the little extra expenditure in my opinion.

If this is true, I might pick a card from Club3D next time. If I decide on the red team, and if they offer some cool non-reference cards.

They do have some pretty decent non-reference designs. Unfortunately nothing in the same category as Asus DCUII or MSI Lighting series, as far as I'm aware but they are on the very few companies doing eyefinity 6 versions of the cards in the higher end of midrange (6870 and 7870 for example) (pity they dont do that with the highest end cards for some bizarre reason, a 6 GB vRAM version of 7970 with 6x displayport would be pretty unique and I'm pretty sure would sell decent enough). While XFX and umm .. cant remember the other company, powercolor perhaps do usually Eyefinity 5 versions in the lower end of the mid range (5770, 6770, etc) with 5x displayport.

Dunno, perhaps AMD does not allow the resellers/partners to do high end cards with 6x displayport to avoid them competing with their professional series cards. Currently the only "high end" cards capable of running 5 or 6 displays are Sapphire 7950 FleX (limited to 1080p bcos of mixed connectors) and Asus DCU II, MSI Lighting 7970 cards which also have mixed connectors and issues coming with them, so the higest card capable, in theory, running 6x 4K displays at 60 Hz is atm Club3D 7870 with only 2 GB of vRAM (which is inadequate to do anything serious at that reso even if you quadfire). Unless you look into the proffesional series of AMD card but these cost arm and leg and then some more.

Edit: I should add that Club3D is atm the only company with MST hubs out which support Displayport 1.2 as far as I'm aware, but these still cost arm and leg and I would consider setup with 1 display per displayport superior to the theoretically possible setups which would allow all the reference cards run up to 6 displays by using MST hubs in the 2 displayport they have bcos of having bandwidth issues if you want to do, for example 6x 1600p or 6x 1440p not to mention atm purely theoretical (bcos of the cost) 6x 4K setup which you cant do with MST hub unless you go for 24 or 30 Hz and limited color depth.

KFA2 is part of Galaxy too, only sold in EU though, they have some sweet designs.

It seems that most AMD partners are strong in the US (Sapphire, XFX, HIS, Visiontek) while most Nvidia partners are more EU- and Asia-focused (Inno3D, KFA2, Gainward, PoV, Sparkle).

The problem with the big three (Asus, Gigabyte, MSI) is that they make all of their cards look the same, while exclusive partners can many times deliver very interesting designs.
