OP I suggest this PC Power and Cooling unit: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817703039

It is not fully modular, but I think your options may be limited when it comes to a quality fully modular unit that is not built by Seasonic.

Thats a rebrand of the Super Flower Golden Green a very good platform but the Rosewill Capstone which is also a Golden Green rebrand is cheaper

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817182264

NZXT HALE 90 V1 and Kingwin Lazer Gold are also Golden Green rebrands

Also, 750w is more than enough to run SLI 780's. I've ran SLI 470's and Xfire 7950+7970 on my Corsair TX750v2 without issues.

Just checked now and it seems most Canadian retailers don't carry them or only have older models so I think I'll be going with a different brand.

There are tons of non Corsonic options

You want fully modular or is semi modular good enough?

Semi-modular is fine, Didn't even realize they made PSUs too but I'll take a look at Fractal's offerings for sure if the quality is as awesome as their cases smile.gif. The R3 800W is $200 here though which is pricey for a semi-modular unit of that wattage.

What do you guys think of EVGA's superNOVA power supplies? I browsed through some of their higher end offerings and they look quite attractive. I'm looking at the 1000 G2 which is $180 ($170) after rebate and is apparently based on the Super Flower Leadex platform that scores very high on JohnnyGURU.

Only the SuperNova G2 and P2 are worth touching
The older NEX SuperNova sucks and the new EVGA 500B is made by HEC so i would not touch it with a bargepole

If you want info and reviews on the Fractal units look here
http://www.overclock.net/t/1391520/fractal-design-power-supplies-information-thread

And yes they are overpriced in the US which is a bit sad but i say they are still worth it despite the overpriced

The EVGA SuperNova P2 is a rebrand of the Super Flower Leadex BUT they have not removed parts of the insides like they did with the SuperNova G2

Last Fractal Design does not make any PSU´s

thank you for clarifying the modularity point.

I suggested the P&C 750W because it's in the range th OP asked but the 850W is valid too, these are very good units (at least on this point we're along the same line smile.gif )

Thanks Kamimaru, I'll take a look at the P&C unit as well.

@Shilka: Could you elaborate on what parts they removed? I couldn't find anything on Google mentioning that.

I got to get to work now but keep the suggestions coming!

I heard someone else talk about they removed a few parts from the Leadex platform with the G2 to make it chaper if its true or not i dont know

The SuperNova P2 sould be a full version of the Leadex with 80 plus platinum and not just 80 plus gold

Copied from the PSU news thread

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
Seems like there will both a gold and platinum 1000 watts EVGA SuperNova G2 and a 1300 watts SuperNova G2 i think that one might be a Golden Green?

And this is the most awesome part there will be a black version or at least a black version was shown at Computex 2013

Thought 80 Plus Platinum was the pinnacle of PSU efficiency? Think again. 80 Plus Titanium is where it's at. Applicable only in regions with 220~230VAC domestic power, 80 Plus Titanium requires a PSU to offer at least 94 percent efficiency at 20 percent load, at least 96 percent efficiency at 50 percent load, and at least 91 percent efficiency at 100 percent load. Currently, just 8 PSUs went under 80 Plus certification, because only server-grade PSUs could earn it. Super Flower unveiled what is perhaps the first consumer PSU to do it, which it's yet to name. The PSU is 80 Plus Titanium certified under 220~230VAC, and at least 80 Plus Platinum certified under 100~120VAC.

Several of Super Flower's new 80 Plus Platinum-certified PSUs are scraping 80 Plus Titanium efficiency levels, although they're not quite there. These units feature an 80 Plus Platinum badge with a ">92% at 50% load" marking, denoting efficiency levels that get very close to 80 Plus Titanium. In any case, those are some excellent efficiency numbers being offered. A star-attraction at Super Flower's booth is the Leadex Platinum 1000W, a fully-modular PSU that is advertised to offer over 94% efficiency at 50 percent load.
