I play the God of War series and playing disc golf on the Move controller drinking with friends is a blast, but even if I never gamed on it, it paid for itself 10x over with how much it's used with my tv. I have several Netflix devices in my house, but none come close to the performance of the PS3. I can't recommend it enough.... even for non gamers.

Hmm, I need to hear more about the catch's about the PS4, but it looks like it might just be my next console... but I'm still not counting on it at this point.

I have to agree with you on this one. Honestly, what would they have to gain by watching you play halo in your underwear. and to be able to watch you? how many xboxes will be sold? there are like what 75 million 360's sold as of this year?

how will they staff enough people to watch you? even if they record it, there is a good chance they will never even roll over your footage.

so just as a high end example. there were almost 6 million, 360's sold the first year. for an example I probably play about 10 hours of games a week. probably average. so 10 times 52 weeks in a year = 520 hours of footage per person.

That is roughly 3,120,000,000 hours of video in the first year. and that is being generous not including the more extreme gamers that can hit 30+, maybe 40+ hours a week. AND that's only gaming, if you include the folks who will use it to watch tv, and browse and listen to music, since they are aiming for an entertainment system.

you think they are gonna staff people to watch all that? really seriously? the same exact thing with the audio. especially considering most of it will be the sound of the games or tv you are watching/playing.

I think the worry of them watching you is a bit out there. I'm all for good ol' conspiracy theories, but seriously lets use our brains here.

(disclaimer: these are really rough estimates, based on quick google searches for info. also I am not defending xbox or anything, I am actually digging both consoles. )

on topic: ps4 is looking pretty sweet. I actually like the look of both consoles, but I think ps4 wins that contest. the controller looks better too.

I've never really seen the point...I've payed a couple of the Halos. It was fun, but I think there are a lot better shooters out there.

I just hope Sony doesn't rely too much on Final Fantasy...that series is probably more a deterrent now days. And Kingdom Hearts 3 should have been on the PS3...I doubt many of the kids these days will be excited for a sequel of a PS2 game. They need to take Kill Zone and run with it...bah...but then the name "KILL"Zone will turn off parents. At this rate the PS4 is probably going to tank. Gran Turismo 6 might save it...don't rely on PlanetSide2...SOE will find some way to kill the game.

I seriously doubt the name Killzone is a turn off for parents. Yeah if their child is maybe 10 year old lol. PS4 tanking, yeah thats pretty laughable. One thing Sony has always had is its exclusives, Killzone being one of the best, then you have God of War, Uncharted and a couple others. Not too mention, Sony is way more involved with indie developers than microsoft. So there are going to be much more indie games on the PS4 which are going to appeal to alot of gamers. But hey to each his own, you think its gonna tank a lot think its going to thrive. Only time will tell.

Well, My brother as an original xbox live user and we where pulling for the underdog Xbox. Even he now doesn't think he will get the new xbox. Now that Xbox has the market share and they stopped putting out good games. They focused on the next generation so I lost interest. Now with these new crazy rules I just don't know where to go. the price doesn't really bother me, but not knowing the price of games does.

I expect both consoles to come out with a few crappy games. They will be hard to get and disappointing. They will both have bugs in service and have issues. A year later some good titles will come out, but they will be good and finally justify the console its self. I will wait to see what other people get and continue with my 360/PC.

i just use my ps3 as a media center at this point. I have never been an xbox guy, i tried i just didnt like the menu systems or GUI honestly. The new PS4 im really impresed with and even though I said i wasnt going to be buying another system i might consider a ps4...maybe....

The line for ps4 looks impressive but im sad that i never played Kingdom Hearts.....as the games always looked great but my younger brother had the ps2 and i was never able to get much time on it....maybe if they release all of them on the ps4....i bought ps3 also because of God of War....so....Sony lets see what you have for me in the future.

I stopped paying for cable years ago. Sold my TV's, and never looked back. I stream everything I want from the PC, I've 1080 projector, a 70' screen that rolls down from my roof. If I want to watch a movie, I stream right to the projector and enjoy the show from my couch..lol

But the PS4 has me watching it for a few games, I'll never use it for a major "go to" system, but a few titles such as "the Division" has my attention. But they have hinted at Uplay which is the PC's digital distribution software, so time will tell if they have enough new titles to attract me.

I'd be less worried about a constant streaming of you and more worried that this is MS putting their patent to use. The patent they got is one that surveys a room and based on the number of people there was supposed to determine whether to allow you to watch your movies or play your games (it focused on movies at the time but I'm sure game studios would be interested in this). The patent laid out that it would take snapshots at a random interval instead of stream video to verify that you aren't showing content to more people than permitted. So...yes MS can spy on you and have enough information all without having to have a constant feed from your kinect. To be honest I think that's ONE (they're not entirely evil; let's be reasonable people they wouldn't ad it if they couldn't offer some features with it that they knew people used or wanted) of the reasons they mandated it; they have a patent and they want to put that patent to use.

Right now I'm wondering how long/hard it would be to get a Linux system running on these either sideloading or as a replacement. Honestly, with XboxOne supposedly shipping with a version of WinRT(?) I think Sony should have snagged a customized Linux OS for them to just say they have something similar.

Strong showing by Sony but being so vested in the PC gaming world it would be tough for me to want to buy a PS4. I may reconsider it a few years down the road, like I am the PS3, but for now I will just WC my computer and get that set up the way I want. I unfortunately do not have the cash flow for something that won't add immediate value to my life.

Meh people say sony "killed" xbone, I don't agree what so ever there conference game wise sucked imo, yes the used came policy and 24hr check in were nice to see, and the $399 price tag was always really good!

But...
Sony's conference doesn't change the fact they still have that horridly small controller and crappy analog stick placement (I know that's subjective) , and also microsoft still has the chance to change policy's!. M$ game lineup was way better then sonys imo. And was I the only person who noticed how buggy and stuttery some of the ps4 demos looked?

I'm going to wait this one out as I have my PC, and neither have anything special for launch titles except for xbone forza 5
