Well I had a waterblock on it. But, when I sold it, the prices on NewEgg were back up to $799. It was only 4 months old, and the block and backplate were $170. So I guess....good timing and willing to take a loss?

However, the Gigabyte model is currently $594 at NewEgg. For that much, I don't know if you could get better performance right now. The 290x would scale better, but that wouldn't end up passing it until you do Crossfire. It's tough to beat 4096 cores for $600.

And the 7990 overclocked like a champ for me. From 975 to 1125 and from 1475 to 1575 stable as heck. No real complaints from the card. Just wanted to try Nvidia.

Considering they sold for $500 new at one point, I say you made out pretty well.
