AMD is being coy with most of the details, but promises the FX-9590 will run at a maximum Turbo Core 3.0-induced speed of 5GHz, while the FX-9370 will jump up to 4.7GHz under ideal conditions. What is not known is whether this speed applies to a single core or multiple cores.

AMD's most powerful desktop chip is the FX-8350, clocked in at 4.2GHz, but the A10-6800K holds the current distinction for running at the highest speed - 4.4GHz.

From AMD press release
Quote:
The new 5 GHz FX-9590 and 4.7 GHz FX-9370 feature the "Piledriver" architecture, are unlocked for easy overclocking and pave the way for enthusiasts to enjoy higher CPU speeds and related performance gains1. Additionally, these processors feature AMD Turbo Core 3.0 technology to dynamically optimize performance across CPU cores and enable maximum computing for the most intensive workloads.

AMD announced that the two chips will be out this summer
Quote:
The new AMD FX CPUs will be available from system integrators globally beginning this summer

This means the two chips will not be sold as standalone at launch to make sure the qualification to run these chips at these speeds are met

225ish Watts.

Supports all GPUs as far as i know. I haven't haven't heard of any incompatibles or glitches for a looooonnggg time and that was with Nivida chipsets not working with nivida GPUs back in the late 90s early 2000s

they have done it once before with socket 939, they had some oober special binned CPUs that were made for overclocking with N20, this time it seems to be 24/7 stable CPUs.
