Its not a problem you need to worry about

its what i call a storm in a teacup problem

It has something to do with the C6 and C7 sleep states of the CPU so if you dont use sleep mode then its a non existing problem

Even if you do end up with the problem which is very unlikely just disable C6 and C7 sleep mode in the BIOS its that easy

Can't you just disable C6/C7 power states?
Quote:
Users with problems could simply go into the motherboards' BIOS interface and disable the C6 and C7 power states.

It's an article written before Haswell came out but I didn't find anything newer.

Ok I will save up some more and get a new PSU

Will you be ordering online? If so, then what store or stores will you be ordering from? The only one I can remember right now is PC Case Gear.

As long as you go with a PSU that's recommended, you'll be covered.

The reason why we say what you have now is bad is because of the OEM that made it which is Solytech

Solytech make cheap crap and they are so bad that the unit you have cant even do 700 watts best case is it will shut off worst case is an explosion and magic blue smoke

There's nothing wrong with disabling C6 and C7, however it's unlikely you'll need to because we'll make sure you don't end up with a PSU that would cause you to end up needing to do that.

Here's a quote from an expert on it:
Quote:

Lower-ends group-regulated PSU may have issues with it. Basically, this power state may keep the load of the +12v rail as low as 0.05A, and the whole scare is that the load on the minor 3.3/5v rails will affect the voltage of the +12v and have go out of spec (the higher the load on the 5v, the higher the voltage goes on the +12v). So when you put your computer to sleep and get out of it, the OVP protection of the PSU may trip off and your computer will not power up.

The thing is that it is unlikely that the load on the minor rail during this low power state isn't high enough to cause this problem anyways, so chances are, you don't have to worry even if it is not officially compatible (the testing methodology done by Intel and such is likely tested more in a worse case, unlikely scenario). If you do run into this problem, however, you should be able to disable this feature on the motherboard's BIOS.

XFX Core Edition and OCZ ZS are cheaper options that are miles better then your TT unit
