lol you make it sound like Microsoft invented the hard disk drive. We have those since the '60s rolleyes.gif it's just that consoles are way too behind in everything.

You totally did not read through the lines... rolleyes.gif

I said "Maximize" .... Gosh take your blinders off....

OH YES im a console fanboy with 2 custom looped water-cooled builds in an SG05 and TJ08-E.... comprehension must not be part of your thinking process huh?

To your point you can get away with a $500 pc gaming build that will look similar to next generation consoles in 1080P @60hz, however you missed my point.... HAHAHAHA

With current games sure...but the expectation is that game requirements are going to jump on the new consoles. Though it remains to be seen if the new consoles are going to lose their console advantage because they are too "PC-like". I'd love to see a PC produce the visuals of the PS3 with 256MB of system memory and 256MB of VRAM. However, if the PS4 and Xbox One have too much OS overhead with more complicated APIs...we might see mid range PCs pulling ahead of them.

I think the PS4 looks great. The only problem I have with it, is that they are charging for online play. That, I can't deal with. I was pretty excited for the PS4. While PS+ is a good deal, I could honestly care less about about it. Steam does all that jazz for FREE.
Console ($400 + $25 tax in TX), PS4 game ($60 $3.75), and the $50 Subscription (would buy online, not in-store).
$538.75 total.

I really don't like that you have to pay to access multiplayer on Playstation. VALVe hosts CS:GO matchmaking servers (Albeit, they're not 128 tick), it's still there. I doubt console players would care, as long as they work fine. Even with BF3 on consoles, you can rent your own servers. No excuse as to why 'server hosting' is so expensive. There are people who are willing to pay for dedicated hosting so others can play on their servers for free (Much like the PC works!)

There's more to PS+ than online play. You get free games and other benefits for $4-5 a month.

People who honestly can't afford $5 a month have some severe budgeting concerns to address. Those who can't see the value of PS + or Live just need to stick to PC gaming and keep outa these discussions.
Here's how to pay for this....instead of heading to Chipoltle or Starbucks that one extra time a month...don't. Eat in, or somewhere less expensive. You win. Subscription paid for.

Honestly people, stop complaining. You want better services from the PS network? Well guess what, that takes upgrades servers, more people working..ect. That requires money.
50$ a year is nothing, that is roughly 4$ a month. You can't even eat properly these days for 4$ in 1 meal. So, save that 1 sub from subway for ONE day, and you got yourself 1 month of PS+ payed for.

It is still a lot cheaper than Xbox Live, with better hardware in the system.

So please, stop your complaining guys.

I'll break it down even more. If everybody set aside a quarter a day for 20 days each month, they could pay for PS+ or Live Gold. Search your change jar and profit?

I don't mind there being a subscription, I just don't want it to be a requirement to own the system if I don't ever plan on using it.

Sure, $50 a year isn't much at all. But over the life of the system, if you don't use the service it certainly adds up.
