XSPC X2O 750 Dual Bayres/Pump is too loud! Can I just use it as a reservoir?

The buzzing coming from the included pump in my XSPC pump/res combo is driving me nuts. I have a Laing D5 that I am thinking of running but I want to use the reservoir and not run the pump. Will this be too restrictive or make more noise?

Interesting.

Firstly try putting some kind of foam pad in between the res and the case to try and dampen the vibrations. This may give you some limited success, especially if you can take it outside of a resonance frequency.

If that doesn't work then try running both pumps at the same time. Again, this may take the X2O-750 pump RPM outside of a resonance frequency and make it quieter, play round with the speed on the D5 if it is a vario and see if there are any settings better than others.

Finally, if all else fails, you can probably run the D5 only. I'm hesitant to say that it will work for certain as I don't know at what point the res outlet is and if the D5 can pull water out without the 750 running. Generally speaking stopped pumps are pretty low in restriction, so as long as the water makes it into the D5 you will be fine.
