2. FULL backwards compatibility.

Aren't you being a bit too sensational? I looked in google for a bit to find this false from the sources I'm reading from.

Those were rumors that were proved false.
It's streaming BC. Check the source I listed, it's all from Sony's mouth.

Wasn't backwards compatibility with the Xbox One to 360 games an issue of PowerPC to x86 being incompatible?

If Sony went from Cell (also PowerPC) to x86, how are they maintaining backwards-compatibility? Did they go the way of the original PS3 where they just stuck a PS2 in it? Or is everything emulated? Or...how?

EDIT: Ninja answered. How do they plan to "stream" the games? What of disc-based backwards compatibility? Owning physical copies of PS3 games does what for you on the PS4?

Backwards compatibility is going to be done through the cloud, however Gaikai isn't going to be ready until 2014

Technically it isn't truly backwards compatible since streaming PS3 titles requires an internet connection and won't work nearly as well as playing it locally. Just try out OnLive and you'll see the issues with streaming games.
Still at least it offers a compromise that isn't total incompatibility.
