The statement comes from the peace of mind I got from buying from a reputable company rather than a shady over seas manufacturer. How many people can truly take advantage of 120hz? Very few on this site. Most will choose max settings over turning everything wayyy down to achieve an fps that will take advantage of 120hz.
That being said, many monitors don't even overclock that high. They are "practically guaranteed" to what, 75hz?
The bezel that came with my monitor is higher quality, resulting in a much lower chance for backlight bleed as well as future problems.
It just seems like a better buy. Sure you're spending an extra $100, but It was worth it for me, someone who worked $7.50 an hour to make the $400 it took to buy this.
