Been looking for sata 7K RPM 2.5 hdd's? The Hitachi Travelstar's look good?

Setup:
2-4 Intel dc_3700's (OS)
4, 2.5 hdd's (media/backup)
1, 2.5 or 3.5 hotswap 5.25 bay (Grab & Go)

Im unsure ATM if I need a RAID card, just depends on Z87 or IB-E refresh.

I dont need SAS for hdds, sata is more than enough. Looking for feedbqck on sata 2.5 7K rpm hdd's and for a single hdd hotswap for a 5.25 bay, total of 2 5.25 bays if needed.

I used that cage with the fans removed and my drives run very cool. I have more than enough ventilation in the case. The stock fans were loud (painfully loud) and honestly slowed airflow over the drives.

I picked this up a few months back. Been great since. Not really hotswap, since that's more about the hardware than anything.

Here it is in my Thermaltake Matrix case:

I liked the price of that cage better... but unfortunately it won't accommodate drives thicker than 12.5mm Had to pay twice as much for 15mm drive space.

That is a limitation for sure. I had to bust out my vernier caliper just to make sure they would fit. Also that it's only SATA, not both SAS and SATA limits it's use.

Always about the price though, lol.

Those would work ssd's.

What a hotswap for a single standard size 3.5x1" hdd for a grab & go, of couse sata.

Edit.

And just get an ext 3.5 hdd or ext hdd case?

And feedback on sata 2.5 7K rpm hdd's?
